The JRT has been recognised by the KC for quiet a few years now under the more profitable name of the "Parson Russell". Let's face it but the JRT was the original badger digging terrier and was the type that was being used to dig badgers when the coloured terriers were still in the lakes being used nearly wholly on fox in un-diggable places. I know badger digging is now illegal but IMO if the JRT is to be anywhere near it's original standard (Badgers, not 14 lbs by 14 inches.) it should be the ultimate fox dog. Is it ? Yes, I know there's plenty of good ones out there but are there many lads out there with kennels of them ? Also, with some lads they seem to move the goalposts regarding JRTs. They get them to dig to but if they don't work out they'll use them for bushing and if they make good bushers then breed from them but seem to forget that bushing wasn't why they were bred in the first place. JMHO. The JRT needs some hard core attention IMO and I hate using the term Hard Core. 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
