Sgt. Blackman Sentence To Be Reviewed ?

Recommended Posts

I've said it before - he needs help, not a prison sentence. He did a few tours where he's responsible for his lads lives, not just his own - lads whose wives and kids he knows. That's a lot of pressure.

He was a professional soldier and, by his own admission, he's well aware of the rules of engagement and the Geneva convention.

He's been failed and hung out to dry when, he should have been helped. Yes a bollocking was due but, so was help from the people that he served.

It's the same old story - they take a young recruit, break him down, build him into a capable killer then, abandon him when he slips up or he's no longer useful.

....... Unfortunately, this is what happens when politicians stick their noses into something that they know f**k all about.

He should have been home long before now.

Put the bunch of fanny's who convicted him to Afghanistan and see how they get on, the man should be released, compensated and given a medal.

#justiceformarineA   It disgusts me how he was treated. Imagine if we subjected our grandparents to such moral condemnation for such behaviour during WWII.

Plenty of soldiers don't support Blackman's actions and think he deserves his sentence.

How many exactly? Have you got any figures?

I have spent a bit of time in the company of lads from 16 air assault, now although that's not every soldier in the army, all of them lads thought he was a clown !

These lads had a couple of tours under their belt and had been on Herrick and seen plenty of action and they thought for a SNCO in command of young lads to go burso like that and give it big licks in a serious situation was just f***ing rediculous.

every para thinks the marines are clowns and every bootneck thinks the pongo's are clowns no matter what they done but really there's massive respect between them so don't take that to litrally

Truth is sex offenders, rapists etc creep out of the back door of our so called legal system, without so much of a murmer. But a man who has put his life on the line in the service of his country. has been convicted , for shooting a piece of shite in my opinion, that would not adhere to the rules of the geneva convention [bloody joke anyway] really is disgusting, some of the jeremy corbyn arselickers on here need a reality check.

We should also announce to the world that any armed force we may be involved in a conflict against in the future has carte Blanche to murder our wounded prisoners !

Honestly, does anyone actually think about this stuff or what ?

Honestly.....I think that's laughable. I can see the story now...."oh my friend was caught by the people he was trying 'to kill'...they caught him and killed him.

My response "yip...that'll happen to you if your at war!!"

I can't get my head around, whether it's bombing from miles away or close combat that suddenly when you stick your hands in the air then you've to be spared. Don't be so f***ing stupid. Must happen all the time in conflict situations.

Get him out

Compensate him for his time inside

Give him a medal then ask if he wants a senior roll setting up a home guard to flush out and destroy all the Isis lot masquerading as Refugees heading this way.

Of what use would he be ?

That's like putting a brick layer in charge of the NHS you absolute fantasist

About 6 years ago , nearly to the day, I was attached to a company

Of infantry in nad e Ali south

I was outside the fob working along when my radio crackled saying to come inside

A taliban shura was about to get hell fired down the road

These particular gang had shot a few of our mates and comfardes over the last few

Weeks and the middle went off

As they are prone to do they brought their wounded to our loacation, what greeted us outside the gates will stay with me till the end of my days. The seargent major asked me to go lead the hls party. I set it up and came inside to help stretcher in injured enemy onto the chinook inbound. These people were in tatters , as a hellfire strike is prone to do, but and this is a big but

Not once did I see or hear a single threat or action to off these mortally wounded men , no sncos pulled out pistols or larger it in front of the camera, in fact if a camera had been produced, it would have had resulted in a large slap

Round the ear. All of the injured made it alive into the air..some were doa at bastion but that's by the by

All I saw was professional soldiers doing soldierly things in an appropriate and correct manner

Men being a credit to their unit, their families and themselves

None of them are in jail

Strange that eh?

lads take it from me war is hard when you know if you are caught they are going to cut your head off and more you can think all you want unless you have been there in that situation do not judge war is hard you have all our laws to to take part in and adhere to while they have no rules.
