Just got back in. No import tax to start with Beam too tight? No way. if its in the field then a quick sweep will light it up. As good as a striker? Yes....and that's on the next to most powerful

Shiny......

Good stuff stabba, i was hoping it would be what you were expecting! Pound for pound far far better value than the lightforce and battery pack, not to mention the convienience of it being so small and

Dont know if I got this from this post but here is a link to the 1850 batteries and performance http://www.torchythebatteryboy.com/p/18650-batteries-chargers.html?m=1 Don't know how accurate it is though. There is some dodgy ones about though by the looks of it. Sure FD has done his homework on the ones he has mentioned though.

I dont know much about 18650 cells mate but i do know the ones i put the link up for are genuine panasonic 3400mAh protected cells that the seller will stand over. Ive tried them and measured them before during and after use with a multimeter and they are all perfectly level from start to finish.....

OK lads - I emailed this seller today to ask for his best price for 4 batts and the charger FD refers to. He quoted me £58 including delivery, so I ordered on that basis. I asked him if he'd do the same for any of you guys if you're interested and he said that's fine. You need to email him first to say you want it and then use this link which he'll re-list - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171661334927 (it's not a general listing of his, just a one-off he put up for me but will do again for any of you who want it...)

Bought separately they'd come to about 70 quid, so there's a reasonable saving there. Delivery at that price is 2nd class but for a slight extra cost you can have first class and/or signed for.

Lol, yea he's a very good chap to deal with in all fairness. Ive had a few dealings with him, he will beat any other prices you see on ebay for the same items he sells. Xtar are top notch mate and them batts are as good as can be got. Fair play, you've a decent setup now mate!!

Just had a quick look of mine on the back field, definitely worth the money. I only own a striker so that's all I could compare it to and there wasn't much in them? perhaps the k50 was a touch brighter and the spot on the striker was a touch tighter but other than that very little difference and well worth the price tag.

FD you have done the lads proud going out on a limb vouching for the torch and sorting the deal, wish there was more lads in the dog game like yourself, thanks again ;)

Been following this thread with interest and was under the impression that this K50 was a big improvement on the Striker.....?????

What are other people's verdict on this light now they have compared it against the Striker.

i think its a lot better than the striker yes the striker has a tighter spot but its way duller compaired to the k50 the light cumin from the torch is so clean and i would say level 4 is simler to a striker then you have 2 extra power levels extra if needed ya not lumping a battery about in a bag or with a shit wiring system on what 9 times out of 10 ya fix in the field the batteries are in the torch get great battery life from it the thing fits in ya pocket if ya like to fence hop :whistling: for me i would pick up the k50 every time

I simply had a quick scan of a school field at the back of my house and like I say I don't think there was much in it between the beam on the K50 and the beam on the striker but when you weigh up the price and practicality of the K50 I think the K50 wins hands down.

When this shitty weather gets better I'll have a go on some better fields with less light pollution and compare the beams again.
