Fraz that is not an insult it's the truth. While I respect your beliefs and will argue against anyone who decry's your right to hold them. You really are quite simply barking mad. It is not enough for you just to have the faith you have. you feel that you must convert any one and every one to have the same beliefs as you have.

 

It just does not work like that, people have their own minds, they do not take kindly to being told how to think. Nor do they like being told that ideas that have formulated over the last 60 years are rubbish and not worth anything.

If you bother to read the rest of the thread you will see that I am an agnostic I simply do not know the answers and that is the honest truth. However, I do believe my job is done I have raised my family and they now have families of their own, so apart from baby sitting I have no real purpose in life, other that to keep on working to keep my life going to no real purpose.

 

I do not feel I need a crutch to live my life, some may, and who am I to knock that. Life is hard and very early in life I had a few short sharp lessons in how hard it can be. Through those lessons I formulated my view of the world and my place in it, how I could contribute and pay back for my life.

 

No one has taught me my way of thinking, and I do not need anyone to tell me what is right and what is wrong, I know already. Now, I have not attacked any ones beliefs in this thread. Although I do now think that Fraz is barking, but that is just the man not his beliefs If you cannot see another person beliefs and have respect for them, no matter what those beliefs are then in all honesty you cannot call yourself a man. You may not agree with those beliefs but you have to respect their entitlement to hold them.

All i was trying to do Tiercel was get an understanding of your thinking you said something that interested me as a human being and i asked you about it thats all,my logic tells me that a believer in God tends to believe death is not the end....whereas a non believer tends to believe death is the end and nothing more exists....that makes me wonder who would/should be more determined to make the most of every last second they are on this earth somebody who believes they have eternal life or somebody who believes death is the end.......your words suggest an easy going attitude to death that just seems more akin to somebody who is in no rush due to eternal life.....which you dont believe in.

That is part of the illness.

With many of these BAC's, religion consumes a huge part of their lives, it really is a waste of time that could be spent doing constructive things. Probably why Islamic countries are such backwards arse pits.

With my ex it was just an endless barage of god bollocks all the time,often starting over breakfast. I eventually tried to make a kind of pact where we both had our own beliefs and would respect each others but we would not try to push our beliefs on each other.

It proved to be impossible for her, so that was the end.

del it was two diff times,when i done the recording i didnt read bible at that time,i was just researching looking for help or answers then i seen a quote from the bible an i thought hmmm thats interesting,then i did a bit more research ended up buying kj bible cause it was the closet word for word tranlation from hewbrew/old testament new testament/greek latin/ from the old scrolls an parchments into english.

when i started reading new testament i seen that jesus was commanding demons to leave people,an he down hundreds of them,he gave peter an paul etc authority to cast out demons an they did,but they couldnt do it to a boy;an jesus came down the mount an met them an cast the demon out of boy,jesus said they didnt do it cause they hadnt exercised faith.

jesus says anything is possibble if you believe
