They sit up tight in dense bramble where he flushes them from. Stock breaking is fine too, I suggest you maybe get out with a few that work. 1 Quote Link to post

Mine bites his feet for a little while after we have got home but he has also got eczema inbetween his pads so nettle stings may cause it to overly irrate it Quote Link to post
Stabs 2
I used to run a couple of little ones, one of which had a bit of terrier blood up close, and they did alright for me. Actually the pure dog had a much better nose and would find for me all day long. They weren't as good as some dogs I had the pleasure of seeing in the field but they served me well. leegreen 2,100
My Bull X has the best nose out and brain out of my five dogs, for bushing and marking stuff. Quote Link to post
Astanley 11,472
I,v had decent bushing staffs in the past ,and would have another one tomorrow , very underrated noses imo . 3 Quote Link to post
neems 2,406
I've never seen a good one, though my old staff had a brilliant nose,he'd run off silently for miles on a line. Caught a few but no good for a quick mooch with the lurcher. Quote Link to post
j1985 1,983
I prefer terriers as they open up and let me know when they're onto something where as with the bulls you just listen out for them moving faster then hopefully a squeal lol 2 Quote Link to post

keepdiggin 9,223
off topic but... my staff bitch from supposed working lines is useless, had her out earlier and just passing the nettles had her itching like mad and whining, whereas the non working ped farm yard cocker x russel who just tagged along was through the nettles and brambles like nobodys business fs! when you say working staff lines, that could mean anything pal to be fair most "working staffs" are no more then weight pullers etc. Quote Link to post
