 chips 15p a bag when I was at school. Passed my test, petrol was 36p a litre. To be fair though, a £1 note was like a tenner now lol. Can mind playing jingles with 5 pences. That's where you threw it at a wall, closes to the wall won. Made a small fortune at that
shove penny  i was the school champion  when i was very small i use to go over the coop with 2 old pennys and come back with 2 bags of penny mix`s

I'd have bet you  we also played it on the dinner tables, 2 shots slide it to the edge of table till its hanging over enough to get your finger under and flip it up. If you caught it you kept it lol.

The closest to the wall around here was called "pitchy".....see the young ones still playing it. The one on the table was Table football when i was at school. £ shots along the table...if you got it on the end you were allowed to flick it up and if you caught it you were to spin it on the table...catch it between 2 thumbs and you opponent made a set of goals with his fingers and you tried to score.......oh them were the days...shove yer playstations up yer arse min..

I do agree that we shouldnt buy into this politics of hate & jealousy being broadcast from Westminster, you have to take each case on it merit.   But to be honest, it dont bother me in slightest

The worst thing is that those kids are growing up thinking that it is normal to scrounge and never do any work.

If we all had an old fashion attitude, people would be rallying around to help support a poor lady struggling with loads of kids. Thats what it used to be like round here years back anyway. The famili

When my taxes have to go up because of someone who is irresponsible it annoys me. Same way I get annoyed when my insurance goes up because of other people.

This woman is in the group of people who don't give a crap and expects the country to fund their lifestyle.

It is about morals and ethics, I don't mind forking out tax for a safety net or to help people worse off than me.

She continued to pump out kids without trying to pay for their upbringing, she didn't magically wake up one day with 11 kids she carried on having them. She could ahve had a job with 1 kid or 2 or even three but she carried on having them to the point where it is economically cheaper to keep her on benefits.

you never answered the question

Because we have to pay for it Paulus

talk about going round in circles  right, i wave a magic wand and everybody on benifit gets a job overnight :whistling: do you think "A" the benifit bill will magically be gone and you will pay any less or "B" the benifit bill will rise dramatically and you will be paying more :hmm:

Benefits wont disappear because of the tax credit, which is a way of reducing the tax bill of certain people to nothing while stopping higher earners benefiting from a tax cut...it makes sense to me in a way. The benefit system will not disappear if everyone had a job. I doubt the bill would rise though because it should and will be capped.

Correct but also a way to stop someone on 100 grand benefiting from the minimum tax rate being increased to say 25,000

Edit: Although I know very little about tax credit

Bringing eleven kids into this world without the means to support them makes you to my mind one selfish uncaring bstard, how anyone can defend her or those like her defies belief.

I've said it before and I'll repeat it, if people like her had to genuinely provide for her brood with no help they wouldn't have them, FACT.

They know the system works for them.

Withdraw child allowance for all after two kids, that's a better contraception method than any other guaranteed.

FACT!

Then why was it years ago before there was a welfare system there was still loads of kids being born into severe poverty? Its no different to today, there has to be more done to help these people at the bottom. People in he community used to help one another, especially those that were struggling. Nowadays we point the finger at them and sneer!

You ain't got a clue what you're talking about IMO.

As has been said before, divide and conquer. most of the ney-sayers are aspiring middle class, who actually think that they can get rich. It suits every goverment to have a two tier system where you have the haves and the have-nots. just throw the middle classes a bone and they will do the goverments work for them. IE; keeping the people in power, in power.

Communites are torn apart by greed, avarice and jelousy. That is what they want and need, as stops people banding together against them.

Come the revolution, comrade !

Personally I don't see the moral ( whatever that means) or logical case for someone who earns a million pounds paying a penny more in tax than someone who earns 10 grand........what you are talking about is socialism and its socialism that makes and indeed needs people like the women in the article in order to survive.

You can't have it both ways IMHO , you either support out punitive tax system ( and by doing so, accept that women like this are all part of its life system) or you don't........very low tax, very small government is the way forward and will see a reduction in story's like the one in the article.

Don't believe the hype, the woman didn't set the tax rates that pay for her life style the government did......reduce the tax and it would handsomely benefit a family like the one in the story to work instead of stay at home......and by working and having some self respect they would be better people for it no doubt

At 80% tax on fuel, council state workers, national health ( private is actually cheaper to the working person), EU contribution, vat, income tax......people like this woman can't afford to work and that is the REAL crime here

Still no criticism or mention about the fathers of this brood involved here, she didn't make the kids by herself... If the fathers were all paying their way she wouldn't be so reliant on state handouts so they shouldn't escape criticism if people feel the need to give it out..

In all honesty, who really cares about people like her getting so much money of the government? I personally couldn't give a shit, I don't know her and what she gets up to doesn't effect me, my family or anyone I know in any way shape or form..
