  3. Youve got f***ing no chance...get a pup and bring it on instead of making do with other peoples rubbish.
  4. Hello mate. I'm planning on being in the Farnborough Camberley Blackwater area in the next week or so. Drop me a PM and ill sort out to go look at the dog. Cheers.
  5. Where are you? What's the breeding of the lurcher?
  6. http://reviews.wickes.co.uk/9987-en_gb/220081/reviews.htm - Leaves really sharp prints...
  7. Get out and ask for permission. Dairy farms, chicken farms and maggot farms are good. Also get to know local keepers. Cover strips can produce some good bags now that the shooting season is over.
  8. Yes you can but it involves a trip to the proof house for the gun I stand corrected on that one. Cheers SS. Just goes to show that FEOs don't always tell the truth (as if I didn't know already lol)
  9. Don't lie now Dan...I know that all those yotes you keep posting pictures of are road kill, you can even see the tyre tracks on some of them!
  10. food scraps from the kitchen, leftovers from the fish and chip shop, road kill and anything they catch when hunting!
  11. If you are going to be taking the jacket off them, it counts as food processing. Therefore to legally sell skinned rabbits you need to be registered with the local authority as a food business. The process is detailed here; http://www.food.gov.uk/business-industry/caterers/startingup/
  12. Once a shotgun has been made FAC (IE more than 2 carts in the mag) then it cannot be made back into a non FAC shotgun, in the eyes of the law.
  13. Its a Muslim religious ritual. They are remembering one of their saints, by re-living his/her suffering. Think its the festival of Aisha? On a similar note, there is a Christian Sect in South America which get crucified every Easter... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/1582212/Easter-warning-crucifixion-is-bad-for-you.html This article is about the Philippines, but most of Latin America is similar.
  14. put some sand near the entrance so you can see the tracks in it the next morning...
  15. I have a solution to your problem... Its called a slow cooker. Agree - I love mine - but how many people these days will think ahead enough to use one - in todays "now" society, they want a healthy, cheap, tasty, hassle free meal on the plate 15 mins after they feel hungryIf im starving i have a bowl of soup and then cook... I often cook up batches of soup, chilli, bolognaise, stews etc and freeze them... I have relied on hubby to bake bread but hes lost interest so i going to learn to bake bread now Bread makers are the way forward for that!
  16. In David's book 'Work them Hard...' several times he addresses the issue of culls and failed terriers. There are numerous instances of this dog didn't make the grade, or that dog started well but came to nothing.
  17. Some of the information is contained in this DEFRA document http://www.defra.gov.uk/publications/files/pb13714-badger-culling-training.pdf
  18. 1 dog below ground, two dogs to use to flush to gun above ground. Reckon you will only find out for sure when someone ends up before the magistrate as a test case. As a general rule, I would only use 1 dog in a rock pile...the fact the you put a locator collar on a dog in a rock pile would suggest that it is below ground, from a legal perspective. However, all of this is purely conjecture on my part. DO NOT TAKE THIS AS LEGAL ADVICE!
  19. Give him 5 mins a day to eat the food. If he doesn't eat it within 5 mins, take it away and don't offer it to him until the next meal time. If he doesn't eat it then within 5 mins, nothing till the next meal time. He will be eating it within a week.
  20. Like the hound mate. Is that a pure red bone?
  21. There was a case reported in the press recently of a man prosecuted for dog fighting by the RSPCA. One of the exhibits was a surgical stapler, which was found to have dog DNA on it. This was used as evidence that the man had not given proper veterinary attention for his dogs... http://news.bbc.co.uk/nol/ukfs_news/hi/newsid_8120000/newsid_8125300/8125388.stm Perhaps advising the use of skin staplers in England and Wales is not the best idea?
  22. There are people who are bothered about the illegal hunting of rats. They will try and get you prosecuted. Anyone remember the OAP prosecuted by the RSPCA for drowning a grey squirrel?
  23. October 2007: A gang of seven men: Daniel Dooley, Darren Fairclough, Michael Smith, John Weeder and Paul Hoffman from Liverpool, Adam McIlvenna from Halewood and Kevin Walton from Knowsley were found guilty of hunting rats with dogs. Each was fined £400 and ordered to pay £65 court costs at St. Helen's Magistrates Court. From the website; http://www.huntingact.org/?q=node/18
