  1. See, that sounds like a sensible, rounded up - bringing to me ! I can't bear seeing kids in £90 trainers, fiddling with £200 phones and so on. what are they learning ? That if you whine loud enough, the world is handed to you on a plate, no effort required ! You sound like my kind of girl LG - you're a credit to parenting......................... Snap! Kids who come from a limited financial background are swanning around with high-horse, entitled attitudes these days. Call me old fashioned but a watch and some wellies are pretty much all mine need for playing out. We just spent a
  2. lol got to say I watch them all in the summer holidays got turfed out though after either Heidi or Robinson Crusoe . .... Little House on the Prairie for me It's rerunning on TV now - happiness is lol
  3. I grew up in the 70's in a big city. We played out all day - even in the snow. Nobody ever knew where we were. We had some fun .... also, I knew kids that got molested, and kids that got abducted. We just didn't have the same constant, global coverage but it sure happened. I had a close brush more than once with pervs trying to get their hands on me and my friends. Big cities tho, higher odds of it happening. My kids are growing up in a single parent, low income household. I work but I haven't got much in the way of pennies to rub together lol I have a small tv, the kids have a smaller tv
  4. Should be a death sentence. He'll only go into prison and find an audience ... and cause actual riots, no doubt. Dirty piece of sh!t.
  5. Nowt wrong with a bit Weetabix. Goat's milk is better for their guts tho. Or even some natural yoghurt. Honey's good too. Just got in from work and not had my dinner - now I'm starving lol
  6. Well fingers crossed he doesn't get gobbled up by one of the bats that frequents my garden in the evenings lol
  7. Well I just checked and he's still in the hedge - you want me to grab him for you? I'm working Mon - Wed but you can come pick him up if you want?
  8. Ffs just looked it up .... is it a usual find here then? The buff ermine (Spilarctia luteum) is a moth of the family Arctiidae. It is sometimes placed in the genus Spilosoma. It is found throughout the temperate belt of the Palearctic region south to northern Turkey, Georgia, Kazakhstan, southern Siberia (excluding Buryatia), Eastern Mongolia, Amur Region, China, Korea and Japan.
  9. That's way awesome cool thanks matey .... love having a go-to bug man lol His wings had started to open over the course of the half hour I was fawning over him, so I reckon he'll be good to go soon. I was proper giddy over find that
  10. I put him in the hedge, he was so delicate when I found him all squished up. These are some others I took but I don't think I'll be able to find him again. No idea? Must be something rare-ish if you don't recognise it!
  11. Had a full on big kid moment today when I found this - only newly out of the cocoon, this was about half an hour later.I was so delighted, never seen one before. At first it looked like a wasp lol What is it?!
  12. You should really have the dog's ears tattoo'd - last I understood it, that is the only true proof of ownership, chip or no chip. But yes, certainly a microchip would be better than nothing.
  13. Better to have all the bases covered I guess Scally. I meant to put it in Lost and Found but I was in a rush so just put it here. Team work If I get any photos of the seized dogs I'll post them here and the other thread.

  15. Thanks Toby They've grown up in muddy fields, climbing trees and deftly sliding over barbed fences Long may it continue! Reckon I've done a fair good job of it considering I grew up a city girl in a foreign land
  16. Sorry for the late reply ... I haven't been able to log in for a few days for some reason Thanks for the comments Getting them all out and about is cheaper than most of the options for family days ... except for the epic washing required afterwards! Oh yes indeed we did. Times two! We had three patts with us that day, and the whippet was able to escort one of the residents to a barn so it could hide
  17. Been a while (again) ... but my lens is rather buggered so I've not had much to contribute ... managed a few from recent weeks tho, if you fancy a gander Been an alright holiday season
  18. Yer inbox is full .... had is past tense? What happened to Trev?!
  19. That don't impress me much Tears in my eyes .... In a perfect world I'd like my last view to be the one thing I love to look at more than anything ... the English countryside on a sunny spring evening. Hopefully when I'm good and old but not a burden, knowing that all my kids are sorted and ok. I'd rather just go to sleep and have done with it. Best if I was beside the love of my life. There's a fair few folks and dogs I'm looking forward to seeing again on t'other side.
  20. Whatever the breed, any dog can turn. What it usually boils down to is education - or lack thereof - about dogs in general and children in particular. The number of times I've read/heard people saying 'oh my dog is so good, lets the kids climb all over it, pull it's ears, ride it like a pony' FFS makes me head near enough explode. Children need to be taught how to handle dogs and behave around them. The very best of dogs can turn when they'v been pushed too far and in my opinion it's fair ignorant to allow kids to behave like that toward any animal. And obviously no young child should be
  21. I know a few people who've had rescues that will happily respond to the bond that comes with training for work, and then do that work well. Get in what you put out for the most part.
