I feel like you're struggling to remain polite ?

That's why they want to try and see if we can use dogs for early detection of covid. Pretty cool really. We have a therapy dog in the hospital, he cheers everyone up. It would be ace to have more of them around ?
-
Well this one will be interesting: using dogs to detect the virus. I'm hoping to work on this one, already called dibs on it in my department ? https://www.gov.uk/government/news/covid-19-detection-dogs-trial-launches

I have 3 teenagers and 5 month old beddy whippet ... ain't nobody got time for that ?

Allow me to bust out the nerd cape ? Research info can be found on the national site https://www.nihr.ac.uk/ Or you can google whatever trial they're talking about in the news, plenty of info that way. Or if you're unwell and having treatment, or have a condition like, say, diabetes etc, ask if your hospital has a research department or lead on the unit. And ya, I've been lurking now and then but mostly keep to myself these days. This is one topic where I felt I could weigh in ?

Well, I can safely say, getting involved on a study or trial can quite literally change your life, and/or the future care your family and friends receive. Research is why we have medical treatments full stop. Its a shame more people don't know, to be fair. I take every opportunity to spread the word ? I'm not a randomer, by the way, I just haven't posted for about 5 years ?

The Recovery Trial randimises patients to various treatments, Dex being just one. We got a massive number of patients in quick time, which means the data painted a picture quickly and it will continue and evolve as we learn. The rationale for trialling Dex was, of course, it's success in other treatments so we compare it to see how it performs against other drugs, taking into account how sick the patient is, etc etc . I work in research and the Covid trials are rolling out rapid fire, because there's so many questions surrounding the whole thing. There's another trial up and running for

Whippet has been wearing an SS collar for a couple of years now. Still like new. Excellent value. My Nan always said, you get what you pay for.

No Bosun, Scallywag let me in the loop on it when he was first reported on FB. I didn't hear the bit about the dog being stolen tho. Condolences to the lad who's lost him. Hope the arsehole who reported it gets a flea infestation of the nether regions. If the dog was stolen and then dumped it'll have been unsteady and spooked and probably acting out of character. Humans really are assholes. Poor dog.

For anyone who might be looking, this was a large fawn dog wearing a Strongstuff collar. Reported by someone as being aggressive (probably lost/ditched while lamping and running loose, apparently worried some horses), he was picked up by the police. No further word on his fate tho I suspect it's not good.

Found early today. Male. Some minor injuries on his legs. Please get in touch if you're looking for him.

Has anyone lost a hawk recently? One been sighted near me in Burnley, ringed and wearing a bell. Message me for more info.

Can't believe it! Gone six days, we were starting to lose hope. He's so thin, was covered in ticks and bites. But safe now. Thanks for looking out :-)

GOT HIM!!! :-D

The pup was sighted last night on the Greenway in the area of Whitegate, Padiham. Out till half 4 in the morning searching, but no joy. Please can folks keep an eye out, on the sales pages etc., and cross post this photo. Many thanks.

Loafer he went into that set - tried to stop him but down he went, and it's currently in use. He's only 9 months old so we feared the worst. Waited hours outside it, never heard a thing, been all over Gawthorpe all night but never saw him after that. People have spotted him at the Tesco in Padiham and on the cycleway at the back of the baths on Station Road. We've been everywhere looking and not seen him ourselves yet. There is a reward for this dog's return and he's registered with the chip company and police etc. as being lost, so hopefully if someone has managed to grab him they won't

This pup went missing in Burnley, in the woods at Gawthorpe. He is less than a year old. Possible sightings around Padiham area not confirmed so he could be anywhere. He is microchipped and a reward is offered for his safe return. Feel free to message me and cross post.

Mine are still too young to work - so they work in the house. Pocket money isn't free. Do the cleaning, earn a few quid. Do nothing, go to the shop and look through the window wishing you'd earned your pocket money I worked from the age of 13 - 2-3 nights a week after school and weekends. Builds character lol
