  1. Well it's attitudes like this that keep a lot of ex workers out of pet homes. It's not cool to just fob off a loyal dog at the drop of a hat, but it's far less cool to dump it/shoot it because you can't be arsed with the flack people give you for retiring it and rehoming it. We can't all agree - but at least be helpful and constructive, or say nowt just like your mum used to tell you
  2. Well at least he didn't throw her off the back of a van ffs We might not agree with giving up on a loyal working dog - I for one wouldn't have just gone and got another - but he didn't leave her tied to a tree in the middle of nowhere, or let her languish and starve to death in a shed or any of the other horrific fates some "humans" inflict on the animals they're responsible for. Give him a break. He got her a home, and she'll probably be much happier where she's more appreciated. If folks attack people when they actually make an effort to get their worker a pet home, nobody will want to
  3. Pup has had her second jabs and has spent the last three days out and about in the real world. She's doing alright on lead, and her recall has been 100%without fail Very impressed as she's only 14 weeks. My camera is crap, or at least that's my excuse Here she is this morning, out with my grey and my mate's lurcher. Posing for a treat She might be a youngun' but it doesn't stop her trying Hot dogs?? Did someone say you've got hot dogs in your pocket? Poser Look at these ears - she's ready for take off Having a go with the big girl The big gir
  4. Perfect day for it! Looks like a fab time. A bunch of gorgeous dogs running about in the sunshine, doesn't get much better than that. Excellent pics
  5. Are you taking bookings for holidays? It's better than my house Looks really great.
  6. The more eyes, the better - thanks. Poor bugger, being muzzled leaves him at the mercy of any other dog and he won't be able to eat anything he might come across. I hope he gets found soon.
  7. Crossposted: Can anyone help to find this lad - West Yorks Dennis ran off after owner had car crash near Tadcaster, W.Yorkshire on the 2nd February. Sighted Sherburn in Elmet on Sunday 3rd Feb. He is wearing a muzzle and green coat. He is black with white tip to tail. We are extremely worried because it was a nasty RTA and he will be very frightened, and being muzzled he will be in real trouble if we don't find him. Please crosspost! Dennis was one of five dogs in the back of the van when it crashed and overturned, before being hit by a 4 x 4, three of the other
  8. Well I read it and found it shocking the CMW would print it. No four month old dog should be working. Sure, take them out, let them watch, but working them at that age is setting them up for disaster imho. The only things they should be catching and retrieving are their toys. Any novice or young kid starting out, who didn't have much knowledge about rabbiting let alone rearing a healthy dog, would get the wrong message from that Webb guy :wankerzo4: Doesn't CMW have anyone on their staff who knows anything about dogs?
  9. That's positively disgusting Someone set their pit on my cat years ago, and I nearly killed the b*****d He ended up moving off the estate after I chased him with a long, pointy sharp item from my kitchen I can understand lots of folks don't like cats but to let your dog murder someone's pet is totally disrespectful. But your pup is very very cute - whatever the cross Sure she'll work out fine for you
  10. Who says bunnies are meek little critters?
  11. That pup looks neglected and mistreated. Send him to me immediately He's really gorgeous Snoop. Fingers crossed I'll get to see him in the flesh soon
  12. 'Tis a shame about Landywoods. My local animal feed place does it for about 35p/lb - they wanted more but agreed to sell it in boxes of ten at a slight discount. 60-70p is outrageous
  13. Too lazy to read or not, the gist of it is that vaccinations DO NOT get passed down from the parents I used to work as a vet nurse, and I don't know everything but I do know that you're taking quite a risk without having the first two jabs done. I have my doubts about the boosters being repeated every year as most vets encourage, so mine have the first two puppy jabs and thats it. Better safe than sorry pal - take him for the jabs.
  14. I give mine pilchards in tomato sauce with rice one a week at least, plus they get cod liver oil & evening primrose tablets with their breakfast. Seems to be doing wonders
  15. www.landywoods.co.uk Or try a local animal feed shop, they usually have it too.

Sorry for your loss She looked a beauty, and must've had a great life after you took her from that farm Aren't we lucky to get to share our lives with them, even if it's only for a short time.
  17. Sorry I just assumed he meant for the dogs ...
  18. I know plenty of folks who use this place http://www.landywoods.co.uk/ All very happy with the quality. I've not ordered myself, but only 'cause my freezer isn't big enough to buy in bulk.
  19. I'll put the word round here as well (east Lancs). If I ever caught someone trying to nick one of my dogs I don't know that I'd be responsible for my actions Good luck finding her, poor thing.
  20. Going to try to make this one if I can hitch a ride there.
  21. Very smart, well done Will you be taking orders?
  22. .... kept woman Or a farmer. Or any kind of job where I got to spend most of my time outdoor.
