  1. Too far away Thanks tho, and good luck with her
  2. Right, cheers for that You all say things like 'mine is grey/bull/saluki/whippet' or suchlike .... so if the dam is as above and the sire is a 3/4 grey 1/4 bull, then what've I got
  3. Thanks loads all - goes to show, different stuff works for different dogs.
  4. Ta lads I've pm'd you socks
  5. This topic seems to come up in different threads at least twice a week ...
  6. What boggles my mind is that the police don't take it seriously - anyone who does that sort of thing to an animal is quite likely to do something horrible to a person. Anyone in that area who's lost dogs fitting their descriptions might want to look into this. I honestly don't know what I'd do if I caught up with someone who did that Makes me feel rather violent actually
  7. This kind of cruel torture drives me to the edge of reason http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tyne/7245421.stm
  8. Nell is a truly beautiful creature. All that and brains too
  9. If I've got it right, my pup's dam was "beddie/grey x beardie grey back to saluki/grey" and sire is 1/4 bull 3/4 grey. What the fook does "back to" mean I find the whole thing really confusing, but then I'm numerically dyslexic so it's no surprise that I just nod and smile like I've got a clue what folks are saying
  10. The tripe and chicken I buy from a local place. The chicken is minced with bone, the tripe is chopped and not very processed. I do find the branded raw meats really mucky and watery, but it's the only type I can get for rabbit, beef and lamb. I also buy them kidney, heart and liver a few times a week. Plus, of course, the bones I give them. I don't give them pork bones 'cause some told me it's harder to digest? I think I'll stick to the 2lb a day, but split it into three meals. She's growing so fast atm, pretty soon I'll just buy a saddle for her I've found tripe to be really good fo
  11. have one of these than Cor that looks like mick jagger on steroids
  12. 'Tis good advice, thanks again all. I tend to give her the bigger, harder bones for chewing on a couple of times a week, would that be about right?
  13. Sorry I better clairfy that She comes on the nursery run and/or up to the shops with me and the sprogs - which is why it takes so long: when you're walking three toddlers you're going about as fast as molasses in January
  14. Ok, so more chicken and beef. Maybe a bit of tripe mid day sometime. Ta for that socks Thanks all, grateful for the advice Yes Ditch, she's wormed. I'm a bit religious about worming, having wee ones running round the garden with the dogs.
  15. Well I was initially splitting a pound between two meals and giving her sommat else round mid day. But she got a bit skinny, so I upped it a bit. She's growing a lot at the moment too. I thought it was too much at one meal, but she eats it so I wasn't sure if I should let her have that much. She doesn't bolt her food down thankfully, she eats fairly slowly. Yesterday was the first time she ate that much which is why I asked for some input 'cause I don't want to do her any harm! My dogs have always had complete, except my wolf x, who ate complete plus whatever she caught. Looking back, I w
  16. This is the first time I've fed a pup on raw diet. When I got the grey, as an adult, I switched her onto it and my other lurcher ate it as well. Stella is nearly 15 weeks old now. Yesterday she ate 1lb of tripe at breakfast, two chicken wings mid day, copious training treats throughout the day, 1lb of beef mince for tea and a tripe stick She does get quite a bit of exercise; lots of running round in the garden and field - sometimes over an hour at a time, plus at least one road walk about 30 mins. I don't push her if she's tired, I basically follow her lead for how much exercise she want
  17. Can we all have your address please? Some of the ladies would like to hire a coach and pay you a visit
  18. Those were great, ta for posting My kids where hooting at your owls
  19. I've got a valentine already - from my son, who made it at nursery for me 'Bout as good as it's going to get for me, but it'll certainly do.
  20. [ Moll. Eeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
  21. Well never say never, but it's HIGHLY UNLIKELY. Only because I don't see the point - I'd be happy to live in sin with someone, if they were the right someone. Or I'm equally happy to live on my own with the kids.
  22. Yep What he said. Does my head in
  23. Thanks folks I look at everyone else's pics and sigh wistfully at the thought of a real camera, not a crappy sony. I can't really get any good action shots with it - they're always blurred. But here's another one from this morning. I like it 'cause just after I snapped it the pup turned sharply and took off. I could watch them run round all day.
