  1. That may well be - but I bet they'll be nice to look at Probably good pets at any rate.
  2. Yep, Jim's da man! http://jimgreenwood.co.uk/default.aspx
  3. Re the recall: if it were me I'd start out in the garden and controlled closed in places ie tennis courts or fenced in fields. Before you let her off let her know you've got treats - I find cooked liver, roasted chicken and those disgusting tinned hot dogs  work best with mine. Make her pay attention like sit before she's off lead, give her a treat and go from there. Recall her often, give a treat every time. Repeat repeat repeat repeat When she starts to ignore you, put her on lead first chance you get, give her at treat again. ALWAYS reward her for coming back, even when you're piss
  4. Neo x dogo maybe? Big buggers whatever they are
  5. I suppose I can see both sides here. I'm not anti. I'm genuinely interested in learning more about fieldsports in general and how to work dogs etc. I've been told recently that working folks are "very distrustful of anyone they don't know". I'm feeling a bit frustrated trying to get people to take me seriously If it were a closed forum I wouldn't be able to come on here and learn the things I'm learning. Surely I'm not the only newbie who is honestly trying to meet new people and get experience? A closed forum would leave quite a few honest folks like myself feeling a bit lost I think.
  6. I was told by an older bloke round here who's had working lurchers forever (according to him anyway), that you should wait till about a year, but longer with some of the larger ones so's not to do them any harm while they're bones are still growing etc? Made sense to me.
  7. AG she looks like a tranny  Have to agree there - she's pretty nasty looking  Yep terrible to her in such a mess, because there was sheer brilliance there at one time , glimpses of it last night but will she ever get back what she has lost in chemical land I really do love her voice and music, but I find it hard to get past the fact that she's a junkie. At least she's spared the long arm of the law, you know, being a celebrity and all Isn't it sad Fence Hopper, that kids should need to have that explained to them at all
  8. AG she looks like a tranny  Have to agree there - she's pretty nasty looking
  9. Ya, then there'd be an uproar over all the teens who've been getting fat 'cause they're sat round on their moneymakers smoking joints, eating doritos and playing video games The only fights that would break out would be over who ate the last doughnut.
  10. Please learn to recognise genius when you see/hear it! The man is a genius (well, apart from marrying what he is now trying to divorce - to his COST) No, seriously, I'm a big fan. Genius he may be, but he sounded really flat last night for most of his performance. His face looks like it's wrapped in sausage skin
  11. I was gobsmacked by the drink culture in the UK when I moved here, and the glorification of it by the media. The fact that you can walk down the street drinking here still freaks me out. Do that in Canada and you'll pay a HEFTY fine for it. If kids grow up seeing adults sat outside pubs on the sidewalks, in parks and such, drinking and carrying on they're not going think there's owt wrong with it. I took my kids to the park on Tuesday, a gang of local scrubbers turned up at 3.30 with their cans and their fowl language, and my kids cried all the way home because I made them leave rather th
  12. Well Hey Jude is sounding good at least
  13. Is it just me or is Paul McCartney sounding a bit .... shite?
  14. its people like you that has given hunting and feildsports such bad press, i too never liked cats till my mrs persuaded me to get one and their really good pets, as i said i used to hate them then i grew up and learned to respect all animals no matter what it is!!! scott Dont worry about it Scott, his dog mus'nt be up to much if it takes 5mins Good luck with the kittens Moll. Moll, your pics are always superb! I've seen a couple of those but the one where you're all walking out together is a scream! Lovely kitties Manda
  15. ... likes REALLY BIG CHIPPOLATAS!! pmsl

  16. Fab! I bet that would be a great experience Sounds like you really enjoyed it.
  17. Really REALLY nice looking pup you've got there
  18. As you may or may not have noticed I didn't. It pisses me off when a story like this emerges and some narrowminded idiot presumes that it must have been some working owner who didn't give a toss about their dogs! I don't care if people take offence to my post on that topic but I will not sit back and let people slag off working owners just because they don't agree with working dogs or killing fwuffy wuffy bunnies. I hunt and i'm proud of that fact, i'll not sit back and hide it just because i'm in a minority amongst bunny huggers! Ya, I know. Stupid comments ... but some of the
  19. I don't know what you're on about Kaye, I'm not ridiculing anybody I only cross posted ..... wtf? I value everyone's support on LL, weather they are anti or not, I don't need you to tell me otherwise. ETA that the term fwuffy wuffy doesn't really strike me as ridiculing What I stated previously is true: there are some people on your board who are a bit radical about their anti feelings. I respect them and their opinions and I would call them fwuffy wuffy without ever meaning to be derrogatory. I also wouldn't argue with them about how they feel. They're entitled to their views whi
  20. I'll 2nd all that, good advice. Yep, me too She's getting plenty of play and socialisation; that's what being a puppy is all about! What I mean is, my first lurcher was just a pet. Lots of fun to walk out with, live with etc. But looking back I can see that he had enormous potential for working rabbits and, being a novice, I never picked up on it, until the day he bounded out of the woods and dropped a live rabbit at my feet. I was like  That was the very second I caught the bug for bunnies. In hindsight I wish I had done more with him. Now I've got the new one I'm a
