    Was thinking about the thread discussing how you choose your pups, and just wondered - once you've chosen the pup, what sort of traits do you look for and build on while the pup is young if you are training it for rabbits. While I'm new to the working dog scene, I've always had and worked with dogs before I moved to England. They've all been pets - bar the wolf x, who was a pet/hunter and in a class of her own - and I know what things I would look for in my pet and the steps to training it as such. So I just wondered, with a lurcher pup ... what should I be aiming for in the early months,

    Had the distinct pleasure of walking out today with jonboy and his family My first lurcher, who recently died, was the brother of jonboy's bitch, sired by Solo. My new pup is also one of Broomers. My Griff Jonboy's lovely Betts All the dogs got on well, great day for it. Very nice to meet you all, hope we can do it again soon Just want to say to Broomer - all the pups I've met from both litters are absolute crackers Cheers mate for letting me have two fab dogs

    I'd be shy of you too if you 'put the hammer to me' Give her time to settle mate. Do the radio thing, give her some safe stuff to chew like bones or one of the Kong things stuffed with some food, and make sure she's had enough exercise during the day so she's more likely to sleep.

    We've all been speculating round here since she first arrived. Definately collie in her, but I'd say there's more than whippet too. She can't half jump can she Bit of a shame that all she'll ever do is agility tho - she's so speedy.

    Well she was found in a box by the side of the road, so your guess is as good as anyone's. Saluki for sure, collie ... etc. Now I would have said straight whippet/collie. I dunno, it's hard to tell... she's a bit leggy for a whippety x don't you think? Blimey I'm no expert! She can be whatever you want

    Had a superb time this afternoon, few mates of mine round for a walk out with all the pooches. Great day for it, good company too A few pics It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's a rare long eared racing mole My lovely pup 'Twas a pack of 11 out today, and not a scrap amongst them. Really enjoyed the day.

    the way dam was crossed was beddy/grey x berdie grey back to suluki/grey so the dams mother was first cross beddy/grey and the sire of the dam was 3/4 lurcher beardie/grey/suliki so the mother of your dog is 3/4 grey 1/4 beddy 1/4beardie 1/4suluki so the only thing she was crossed back to was greyhound 3 times now to the sire 1/4 bull 3/4 greyhound so the sires mother was 1/2 bull 1/2 grey back to grey and the sire was full grey!!so that gives you your dog dam beddy/grey/berdie/grey/suluki/grey and sire is 1/4 bull 3/4grey so the only thing your dog is crossed back to is grey 4 times

    Not much to worry about - most gays don't bite. Unless you ask them too I've got no problem whatsoever with folks being gay. One of my best mates back home is gay and has a better, longer lasting relationship than most folks I've ever met. Get over it - if you don't like the banner don't look ffs

It pisses me off when a story like this emerges and some narrowminded idiot presumes that it must have been some working owner who didn't give a toss about their dogs!
