  1. The good ones always leave way too early Sorry for your loss.
  2. What kind of eejits are you lot paling round with I've not been lamping yet - but if someone who knows tells me what to do/not to do, I'd follow their instructions and do like I was told! Especially since I don't know much about it. Will get my turn next season tho
  3. Nothing legal can be done as far as I know. Especially if you're dog is on your property or out in public space. This recently happened to me .... but instead of pretending it didn't happen, I knocked on some doors to find out who the cat belonged to. I apologised to them, as I was genuinely sorry for what happened. I think she really wanted to let fly at me, but because I obviously cared about what happend she wasn't too bad. I usually muzzle the dog in that area but was distracted by something and just forgot. I wouldn't want someone searching fruitlessly, worrying and wondering what ha
  4. Before anybody gets any bright ideas, I'm not in disguise as Spookster Just so happens tho, that we both come from the same city, but Spook has been here ages I really think you should give the rabbiting thing a go Spook, your dogs ran so well last year at Peterborough, they'd no doubt really enjoy it.
  5. I rather like a bit of honey, but Maple Syrup is the food of the Gods My mum brings it over with her when she visits. The stuff you get here is pretty good, but there's nowt like Turkey Hill maple syrup! Growing up, our school field trips in winter always included a day's maple syrup making out in the country. YUM.
  6. I'm only second generation Canadian, all my background is Scottish/English/Irish. I'm so pale I glow in the dark, the sun hits me and people go blind. I burn on cloudy days. I'm like a milk bottle. 15 degrees back home, everyone is shivering in their cardys. 15 degrees here, you're all naked, sweaty, beet root red and steamin' When I first moved here I was gobsmacked at the number of folks lining up for a dose of skin cancer After 4 shitty, wet, grey winters here I'm starting to see the allure of crisping oneself in the sunshine: it hardly ever appears lolol.

  9. It's a British national past time ..... the temp goes above 15, everyone strips off and runs outside to get their first burn of the year It never fails to make me laugh Go past a pub on a semi-warm day, you're guaranteed to see a good few folks perched out on their little stools, pints in hand, looking for all the world like a bunch of drunken lobsters
  10. A Zebra ..... I hope I'm one of the fast, healthy ones so I don't get eaten by a lion
  11. Don't know about ferrets, but I wasn't very pleasant when I was expecting Maybe she's pissed with you for getting her into that predicament She does look rather like a little angel tho

  13. Well it gave me a proper laugh I think my parents must've had the single, I seem to remember some of the words to that song ..... figures And buster, you would have a field day with the jokes if you knew what my maiden name is. I'll never tell!!!
  14. Gee Ditch, always the eloqent bearer of great news lolol. Cheers for all the advice, I'll deffo contact somebody about them. Unless there's anybody on here wants to come and sort it for me They're not full grown rats, adolecents for sure - but rats nonetheless. Eugh. The kids found the latest dead body .... thankfully they didn't touch it! Why can't he just stick to regular mice and the odd shrew?
  15. OMG pmsl ..... My Ding-a-ling by Chuck Berry
  16. Mine aren't allowed on the sofa either Kay She's a beauty - where did she come from?
  17. Clever Mine can open the downstairs baby gate Very annoying at 6 in the morning.
  18. Just a thought.........you have one hell of a ratter there........could someone be using rodenticide already to control the rats......hence you may be being brought rats already dead or rats caught being very nearly dead? I doubt they're dead Rolfe - Alf doesn't 'do' dead stuff. He usually loses interest in whatever he's munching shortly after it stops twitching, which is why there's usually just a bit eaten. He must think I really like rodent guts It's a thought tho .... guess I better ask the neighbours just in case. But, if they were full of poison, wouldn't he be ill?
  19. Very funny fellas .... I assure you my bush is in good order. Thanks for that advice Ditch. Mighty Hunter left yet another dead body outside the door yesterday afternoon It was rather larger than the others as well. I think I'm going to have to get someone in to deal with the dirty fiends. The only other time I've had any experience with them, they were in the loft of a house I stopped in for a couple of months, so I had them all poisoned and then moved out. Can't really do poison this time tho .... not with the kids here. I assume it'll just be traps then?

    Rats

My cat, the Mighty Hunter, regularly leaves bits of critters outside the door for me .... over the past two days I've gone out to find two rather large rats lying out there  He doesn't seem keen on eating them, usually leaves the bottom end for me to tidy up. Should I be concerned that there are obviously rats round my house? This is the first time he's brought them home. There's a lot of bush out behind my place, and a dirty brook, so I'm hoping that's where he's got them and not closer to the house. I've never had to worry about rats before
  21. Just a question Mark - what would happen if she didn't clear that, and fell through it
  22. Whatever else is in there, I'd wager there's deffo some Beardie. Very cute dog! Won't be hard to find one like that once you do a bit of homework. Good luck.
