  1. Well, I'm a cat lover .... but I'm starting to see the downside of the exploits of cats. I've had cats all my life and never thought I'd be without one in the house. My neighbour next door but one has loads of feeders in her garden, and my cat regularly thins out the songbird population So that's the bad side: but the good side is, he's also out killing mice and rats around the house. I come from a big city too, and I had a cat years ago who used to kill squirrels and crows (good thing!). They're only doing what comes naturally, after all ... the same as our dogs do.   3. Anything you put on would wash off in the rain ... but you could try some really hot spices. Bit harsh but it'll do the trick. Or, wrap some aluminium foil over the wires, most of them don't like chewing foil. I've also used a medium tack double sided tape in the past - unpleasant for them, but stops them Or, you could hide out, wait for the dog to start chewing, and then correct the behaviour.   4. I went to Peterborough last October and had a blast. I'd do it again any chance I have to get to a show. Dogs had a great time, I met some excellent folks, twas a load of fun. But just that - fun.

  11. Mine wouldn't swim either - but I kept throwing her in, and she will now Might be worth a try, swimming would be really good for her leg, even she only does a little bit at a time.
