  1. Well Terryd the mix worked not too bad but I don't altogether agree with quantities (BBC puff pastry recipe). I did all the mixing, cling film, fridge, out, roll, fold, fridge, out, roll, fold, fridge, out roll fold. All that took best part of an hour. Beef with onion and potato cooked to perfection. Rolled out and sized the pastry, lined the dish, filled and capped. Pre heated oven165 and in went pie for 45 mins. Daughter arrived, sat down with dinner, nice pie dad. I asked if she noticed anything different to whit, no not really. Moral. Buy the stuff or stick to short crust. Must try harder.
  2. Terryd. I'm having a go at this puff pastry lark. Daughter arriving about dinner time so at least I've a Guinea pig.
  3. More than one thing to remember then lol. Testing.
  4. Thinking very seriously about getting another bike. It has been stored for approx 5 years and before it went into storage the guy spray waxed the whole thing obviously to stop corrosion. How the heck do you get this stuff off. I don't have a hot spray.
  5. If it got down this far I doubt you'll be getting it back.lol. Lovely looking bit of kit that. Hope you get lucky.
  6. That was the best hour I've had in months. Well done that man. Inspirational.
  7. Was that a bit rude on Lutra Lutra's thread.? Hope not.
  8. Tree hands. Are you looking for 'any' books. Early part of last year, ish, I listed a load of books that I have and want to distribute. It's a right mixed bunch but I reckon there must be above 20. Any good. If they are I'll post the titles and authors. They are in South Derbyshire so think about collection/postage.
  9. If it takes you as long to get one of them dishes ready folks is going hungry
  10. Bulkington / Nuneaton ???
  11. Back to you Fay. As I said before, they are very dark and if you read the previous post from gaz you might begin to agree. As he says, the pic kind of picks up the light undercoat but in reality it's only his mask which is whitish. Wish you could see him. Jok.
  12. Our Plummer nearly 3 years old.

    Partridge?

Row ?? Don't think so. This is an informative forum. Seems slightly more informative than the RSPB though lol.

    Partridge?

Not at all ads. Just thinking out loud. Think about for a minute though. For starters, what's the first birds you see pairing up and actually nesting and sitting. Corvids I reckon. In the hedgerow I would say blackbird. Even they haven't got young yet so that's why I figured it was almost impossible first week Feb.

    Partridge?

Partridge chicks first week of Feb?? Flying at a week old?? Excited RSPB lady?? This has the makings of something for Country File lol. Frankly I don't believe any of it. Ask the game breeders.
  17. I had 5 flight ponds on the shoot. 450 mallard released more or less equally. All were fed away from the ponds and in most cases used barley from bags in adjoining fields. However. And I have said this many times on here. I had a friendship with a local greengrocer and subsequently with a local supermarket who both supplied me with goodly amounts of out of date bananas. The ducks went crazy for the things. The more rotten the better. Again fed away from the ponds. They, as already mentioned, soon learned the whistle. I' lol admit that at the early part of the season the shooting was anything b
  18. Wonder if I could make you one. I' ve a nice little workshop. Any pics to give me a clue would be good. Jok.
  19. I think they're the ones from Nottingham. Apart from a slower beep signal good collar. £38 can't be all bad.
  20. Down to me then. That'll be my next pictorial. Just need rabbits??
  21. Moe. What gaz didn't say was that we netted a full half grown rabbit. Not something stunted but half grown. Now this in the first week of Feb. Completely nuts. To answer questions about does in kindle, they pretty much all are although in very different stages. Good thoughtNo myxi, and have been around a fair bit.
  22. Totally agree. Going to test your camera ability. Need some dead in the air shots lol. Looking forward to trying this new gun.
  23. Beam. If you are still following this thread could you put up your version of rabbit cobbler please. Just reading and re reading I believe one or two watching would appreciate it. Thanks in anticipation. Jok.
  24. Eh up TC. Butcher chuffed to bits with the pigeons. He's asked for 20 a week for both shops. £1.50 each as long as they look like that. Quite pleased really.
