  1. And so it goes on. Another row of spuds, full row of peas, all sticked up and the ground ready for everything else. Getting my 200 Kelsie plants end of the week and had a good go in the greenhouse with seeds. After last years failures there are a number of things I'm not even having a go with. Only so many kicks you can take.
  2. I think maybe lost the thread. Anyhow. David Platt, aka Celtic Lurchers, aka Deerhound Hybrids, aka David Platt, English Game. Somewhere in Leicestershire. Google is the way to go. Can't give any more help but good luck.
  3. Thanks for the likes and comments fellas. It gives me a lot of pleasure.
  4. Had a good go today. After all the tilling it was time to plant. The ground, however, is still very cold. Anyway, 3 rows earlies, Arran Pilot, all ridged, beds ready for cabbage and cauli, and all in all looking aok.
  5. Well Walshie. Nothing to add really. No result.
  6. Go on Devon. Have a trio about the place. They are proper characters if a little noisy. They talk all day long and screech like banshees when Reynard is about.
  7. You might think me a bit of a hill Billy, but, most things don't like diesel. Strange but true, if you can bear doing it, a very small trail around your plot will deter most things including the dreaded slugs and snails, and of course the mice. They don't live on your ground unless you are a real idiot. Don't tell your neighbour. He can have all of yours
  8. Lost 11 in one night. Begs the question? How?
  9. You daft bugger. I'm still running an 8 track in my ford cortina. LP's are a new thing. Got a 1954 Seddon which has a starting handle. Ever heard of one of them pal??
  10. Leethedog. What does your question mean exactly.. LP's.
  11. Wouldn't dream of not using a collar. I can only recall 2 times digging for one. One of them was for a me 3 collar which I hate anyway. The days of harness are surely long gone. I'd rather send in a Jill without and if lost send down the hob with a collar.
  12. Sorry. Must be said. This thing is a beast. Talk about pull you about?? I had to literally work it from left to right all the way and still the mother wanted to go deeper. The 6.5 HPR certainly has advantages but it's hard work. A few of the lads are asking for a borrow but we all know what happens then. (Your machine, you fix it).
  13. Well to you both. My pet hate is ANY weed. Particularly, nettle, dandelion, dock, buttercup and in fact anything with a tap or good root system. Before rotovating I always remove. It would drive me nuts thinking the little beggars were still in there. With the 'new' rotovator I've just had nearly 4 hours work and we're looking pretty good. Ground is cold as hell so just going to wait a little while longer before planting anything.
  14. Speaking of tiny. Shame about Ronnie. RIP.
  15. Could that scroat have been 4 legged??
  16. Hold your foot up Daniel. There's a lovely lady next to me who might, just might, be able to help. I've just txt her so am waiting on an answer. Jok.
  17. Eh up son. I hear Gaz is invited for a visit. Can I be an accomplice? Love Catterick but only from the back of a Landi.??
  18. Best thing about my terrier box is the beautiful little lady sitting upon it. Lovely to meet you. Again I'm sure. Have a nice birthday. Jok.
  19. Oh mate. Clever feckers ain't they. What's yours is theirs. Just by adding a thread should get you results but I'm not in the know for game stuff. Bet Ccicken man and Devon Flighter might help you. Good luck. I'll keep my ears to the ground anyway. Jok.
  20. Them lambs ball rings are handy either end.
  21. Not bad for a broody bantam. Lol
