    Do hardened steel (old) files fit the requirements? I used to use them to make turning chisels and they really hold their edge. Have a word with Gruffalo Griff on here, I'm sure he'll put you right. (I digress). I have an old file. Jok.

    I think I'm right in saying that probably won't work very well as the hair is hollow and just falls out.(In fairness never tried but was defo told this).

    You know when you go for an MOT and you pass but with advisories. Well mate I think an advisory is in order. This sounds like a huge failure. (Only in my opinion). Lack of knowledge and clearly not knowing the great unknown. For sure you will have a visit and all your budget plans etc will go to the wall. How do I know? The buggers did it to me in one night .All right not the numbers you are on about, but all the birds cleared in one night. Heartbreaking.     Sorry CM. Just saw the last post. Basically anything. I love working wth timber and enjoy a mental challenge. Small is the order of the day. I can't lift the big stuff anymore. I enjoy Gruffalo's posts and admire his work. Will have a go at most things.

    Never even thought a difference between 'u' and 'v'. Must admit the thorn looks more 'v'. How does that make any difference ? Don' t, please take me wrong as I am a country guy and have done the catty thing as a youngster, but all I can remember is the aluminium one. (Marlboro or something).

    Cheers Chicken-man. Just sent a ferret box up to Renfrew. Hope he's chuffed. These terrier boxes are good though ain't they.by the way, my birds are laying well and looking top hole. Mixed colour eggs definitely good. To find a pure bred cream legbar cockerel is a bonus and he's treading like mad. Jok.

    May I say a little something? I have not a clue as regards catapult wood but, have noticed something recently. At the local, which I frequent, the hawthorn hedge has been bludgeoned to bits by the local farmer. Result ?? The loveliest of catapult looking things ever. Any good ?? Jok.

    well I made one. (Need to realign one of the doors). To my way of thinking it could be too big but without doubt will take 2 terriers. When finished it' s going to be coloured 'Old Walnut'. Something else I've noticed, the hinges could do with bolting. Stop the evil gits getting in. This project took an 8' X 4' 9mm ply, two runs of oak, goodness knows how many screws which all went in with the screwdriver, copious amounts of sanding and of course the colouring. To be honest, singles, doubles, trebles and the double with central toolbox would be easily achieved. I think I know where this one's
