  1. Around 2004 a landlord of a pub in Maltby asked a bloke to leave the pub as he had previously been banned. The bloke punched him in the face and he was dead before he hit the ground. Somebody's husband and somebody's father gone in a second.
  2. If it will play ball the police, prisons or armed forces will buy it.
  3. I think there are a lot of assumptions being made. For instance taxing rich people because they can afford it. This stifles enterprise and it is the rich people that often create employment through their enterprises. Taxing the rich also results in more money being hidden abroad instead of being invested in the UK. Not chasing those who do cash in hand jobs creates unfair competition for legitimate trades. Many trades are struggling with the taxes and necessary legislation as it is without losing work to casuals on the black.
  4. And who repairs and services all this equipment? It will create employment, hopefully some of it in the UK.
  5. As the Americans and Russians already know, it is a way of boosting the economy and reducing unemployment. Of course Starmer will fight against it and Comrade Corbyn will be up in arms about us upping arms.
  6. The dogs are trained to take down and hold a running person or one who isn't running but is showing aggressive behaviour. If a dog is sent at a runner and the runner then stops the dog will not bite, but keep a vocal watch on them whilever they remain stationary. Between the dog being sent on a chase and before reaching the target the dog can be recalled. Each year the dog and handler are tested for safety and efficiency. They have to demonstrate that the 'stand off' and 'emergency stop' are in place otherwise they are taken off duty until they pass the tests. In between times there are
  7. That's like me saying that I'll half income tax if I become Chancellor. It ain't going to happen.
  8. They also had agreements with those who had been financially supporting the tories; Cadbury being one of them. Bliar promised to carry on with tory policies in return for their cash. 'Old' Labour had run out of money. He needed new sources of income. Traditionally all Labour PMs invite the leaders of the largest unions to Downing Street immediately after taking residence. Bliar invited business leaders to the inaugural party. The situation today is not very different to back then. Public sick of the tories lining their own pockets and Labour being morally bankrupt. It is begging for Fara
  9. So you don't want me to send you a box full then?
  10. Let's take it even more slowly; I................. don't..................know..............and............... I ................don't..................care! I lift the clod, check the trap site and there is a little head the size of a 2p piece peeping out of a hole. Not exactly ideal conditions for reptile spotting. Anyway, I have just checked the status and they are of least concern. So no need for them to perform for your pleasure. They are doing OK all by themselves. I thought boys grew out of keeping frogs and newts when they discovered beer.
  11. Whoooah!!! How the feck do I know if they are striped or spotted? I only see their little yellow and black heads peeping out of the tunnel. They aren't like those bright green ones that do a runner and give you a good view of them. I just leave them to breed on their own, in private. Pervert!
  12. When I check my mole traps there are toads living in some of the trap site. Most of them are there all winter. Salamanders too. And we have a toad residing in the sunken hatch where the water meter is. That seems to be there all year round.
  13. Yes, and privatisation of the care for the elderly which has resulted in the current high prices of poor oap care. They introduced Plastic Police and other unskilled, unqualified people doing the jobs of teachers and nurses. The increase in police, health and education numbers were down to these Community Support Officers, Curriculum Support Staff and Auxillaries working in nurse's positions. They reduced crime by altering the way it was recorded just like altering the way recording unemployment figures was altered. All reports of criminal damage under £19 did not count towards the figures so
  14. I think it won't be long before electric bikes are licenced and subject to compulsory insurance. Certainly for those more powerful ones. We were walking into a small town the other day while on holiday and a group of over twenty riders came past all riding Velox bikes. These are basically ordinary bikes from the 1950s to 60s with a small 2 stroke motor mounted on the stem. The motor drives the bike's front wheel, direct drive onto the tyre. They were wizzing along at about 30mph with very little engine noise.
  15. Yes, they altered the way unemloyment figure were calculated. So at a stroke they drastically reduced unemployment simply by fiddling the figures.
  16. You could merge this with your cookery posts as Toad in the Hole.
  17. Yep. Get between two mates fighting or a bloke pumelling his wife and suddenly its two against one with you being the one.
  18. I agree with all of that. Being brought up in a mining community with my Dad and most uncles employed undrrground I grew up as a socialist. My first job was in a textile mill during the 3 day week and when at Technical College we had to tear up our previous notes as Labour were tearing up business legislation on a daily basis. Look where all that got us. Failed businesses down to stupid government policies bordering on communism. Failed businesses = people out of work. Labour were also propping up the biggest of all failed businesses, all nationalised. The Tories changed all that, b
  19. Sounds like Italy is heading to elect a female extreme right winger as PM in a coalition goverment. She is saying what the public want to hear: navy turning refugee boats back, etc. It will be interesting to see how she intends to do that once someone points out EU regulations and the Human Rights Act that will block her plans. Still, another problem for the EU Heirachy to worry about along with Hungary and Sweden's immigration policies.
  20. Any dog that doesn't submit to the owner / handler or their family doesn't know its place in the pack. Time for some discipline to be installed.
  21. Yes, they can be a bit manic. Some GSDs were too but often that was sleeve preoccupation and they left OK on a live bite. But some mallies were a nightmare. Once fired up their level of aggression bordered on psychotic. They had only just started to come in during my time whereas the Belgian and Dutch police had used them for years. Maybe their dogs or training methods were different. After all, our training manual was based on training GSDs and started the biting excercises with goading the dog to bite. It might be that Malies needed a hold/leave routine in place with an empty sleeve o
  22. You mean she has the remote control?
  23. What's that Newkid says? Oh yes, I remember now; Twat!
  24. You can always tell those who aren't wired up right by the number of consequitive posts they make, answering every single point one after the other.
