It's nice hearing places mentioned on there that I'm familiar with. I know Carsington fairly well and last time I was here I cycled around as part of a bigger ride. It's cracking countryside with loads of cover but I must say I'd never heard of the 'beast of Carsington' until now.   5. 20 km a day is good going! Similar story here.. ankle still not right yet.. no biking, no running and stuff getting in the way of getting to the gym.. I'm flying down hill at a rapid rate of knots!

  15. Nice place isn't it mate! We had a walk around there some years ago when we had the caravan. We used to stay on rhe Golden square site just up the road from there!

Maybe during the interval I could take the stage and tell my own survival story from when i fell down a hole fcking my ankle up on kinder scout one night and endured a terrible 4 and half hour walk back to the car unaided with only 2 cheese slices for nourishment the whole time! Some feat eh! Lol..

  20. I'm not sure it's the exact same location mate but there is a plaque in a layby on the A9 saying the same thing about the last wolf being shot there. I pulled in there for a coffee out of the flask on the way up to Plummer land 25/26 years ago! I've got an old pic of it somewhere. I looked it up and found it on Google earth for a mate that moved to Dornoch a few years back. I think it's just below Bora if I remember correctly. The lay-by is on the left as you go North. Nice pic by the way!

  23. Yes.. that's it. I remember going down in a lift to get to the tunnel. Was noisy as you'd expect when you're in there. We did the copter ride too. I've probably got some old photos buried away somewhere. Hope you enjoy your trip mate.. don't forget pics!!
  24. Brought some nice memories back that has thanks! We had 3 nights in Toronto and a couple at Niagara. What's the tunnel you refer to mate? Is it the one under and behind the falls?? I remembers bits of it.. was along time ago now!! Still got this in the kitchen window!
