  1. They look like a good bit of kit. I'm guessing, looking at the edge, they're plasma cut or lasered. If that is the case presumably its a simple affair to alter the dimensions. I reckon you could find a real good market in making a range of smaller sizes to offer up more of a challenge you've certainly given me an idea for my next little shed project. If you have the means to "mass produce" them I think you have the potential to be on to a nice little earner. Again my biggest suggestion would be to make a few smaller ones as well
  2. I've just been looking at buying one of those (due to the feo deciding my current set up isn't good enough after 20 years !!! ) how tight a fit is it? At the moment I've got 2 shotguns, an hmr, .22lr, an airgun and I'm looking in to a foxing/deer rifle. The local ag dealer reckoned I'd be fine with the rl7 but you're giving me reservation's about it now You will get more than 4 scoped rifles in but I like a gap between each rifle so the scopes aren't knocking each other The gaps I leave between rifle I could get a shotgun into the gap but then everything would be tight and touching Thanks

  4. Thanks James, but there is no way I'd ever say that BSAs are anywhere near AA for quality, consistency, accuracy, reliability. However, as you rightly say, if the gun does not suit you then fair enough. I'm just thinking about higher shot count options. The Theoben is by far one of the highest...I think... I completely understand where you're coming from but if you give the BSA the benefit of the doubt I think you may be pleasantly surprised
  5. If you're conerned about the quality and finish of the BSA rifles my advice, based on my own experience, would be don't worry about it too much. My r10 puts my s410 to shame to the degree that I've just traded in the aa over the r10. I've not tested the effective shot count (although the bsa's is clearly higher) but I do know that the difference in shot to shot consistency between the two rifles was negligible as far as fps was concerned despite the BSA being "regged" but I found I had much more faith in the r10 when it came to pellet placement. I'm sure 99% of it is down to the way the r10 fi
  6. Any rifle will get your enthusiasm up but my tip would have to be lose the pointy pellets! They'll knacker up your accuracy (and hence enthusiasm) more than any rifle can
  7. I'm facing the same dilemma as you and have come to the conclusion the only answer is to get both I've put in for .22lr for short range hmr for longer work and keeping a PCP airgun for round the yard
  8. Congrats on the editing moxy, its about time we were saved from some of the numpties that frequent this site
  9. Hi Neil I've owned S410s for over a decade now and never had this experience. I know you can bang and knock the silencer (true for any gun), but I've never been aware of the actual barrel being easy to knock out of line. If it were, I doubt they'd be such a successful gun as most hunters will put them through their paces on a daily basis. I'll watch out for it in the future though, I've had a new s400 in .22 and an s410 in .177 in the last year and both have been extremely prone to the barrel going out of alignment at the slightest provocation! It's been bad enough for me to chop the
  10. Totally agree, if you need to lose one let it be the stealth
  11. Good on you Jairon, to come back with a post like that acknowledging you mistakes shows a good deal of courage and maturity. Full respect to you and all the best with your clean slate, hopefully you'll stick around and have an enjoyable and worthwhile time on this forum
  12. I've had two of them (obviously I'm even dafter than I look! ) when they're working they drive and handle very nicely for a 4x4 on the road and aren't bad off it either. The issues I found were that the tc was good if you didn't know how to drive if it was a bit slippy but was a hindrence if you did, then there was the reliability! In 4 years doing about 10k a year I had two dual mass fly wheels break up, 3 clutch slave cylinders go (cheap part but a split the engigine/transmission job), viscous coupling failure, propshaft bearing failure, burnt out fuel injector loom, abs failure, SRS light c
  13. Or better still a free variation for centrefire, open on any legal quarry We can but dream, hope it soon come through (I hope my wait isn't quite as long as yours)
  14. If it was me I'd keeping getting the police in as a matter of principal! Scum poaching does nobody any favours, it portrays airgunners in a bad light generally and speaking as a farmer the damage they do and the general levels of intimidation (threats of physical violence, retaliatory vandalism etc) puts any poacher right at the bottom of the pond, hopefully they get what they deserve whilst the rest of us can have a good laugh when they get the book thrown at them (or more likely get a slap on the wrist and told not to be so naughty in future ).
  15. Stick with the vc, the quarry you hit won't complain either way and any other in the vicinity will find the sound of lead on head far louder than the report of the gun
  16. My only comment would be yes they are a cracking rifle but when you pick it up from the dealer give it a damn good checking over! My first one came with a loosely fitting action (which you can't nip up yourself due to the anti tamper) and a reccuring breech seal leak as well as a barrel band that also had not been tightened up! To be fair the RFD sorted it quickly but its worth checking, the s410 I upgraded to as a result has performed almost as faultlessly as the r10 it shares the cabinet with. Its been a nice enough rifle but one of them has to go to make room for an hmr and I'm afraid its g
  17. I've used those guys on behalf of a relative and the service was second to none. I couldnt comment on how competitive they are price wise as they were the only place that could source the anschutz semi mag I was after without delay but it turned up pretty much next day
  18. You're not alone. Im in Linc's and sent off for my SGC renewal and FAC application almost 5 weeks ago and they still haven't even cashed the cheque yet never mind doing anything constructive about the situation A mate has just received his bog standard SGC renewal back after a 13 week wait! I know they're saying its the peak point of a 5 year cycle for applications but if they knew this in advance why not get extra staff in? They're lucky they work in the public sector, no privately run business would survive for long if it was run like that, it really does drive you up the wall! Sorry about
  19. I'm guessing if its just been ploughed at this time of year its probably a field that previously had sugarbeet, Tate's or a veg crop in it. If it was beet have a look at where the tare from the cleaner/loader has been spread (its a good magnet for most things). If that fails I'm afraid its a case of wait until its drilled up (it'll likely only be a week or two Max) and the with any luck you'll get some cracking sport on the pigeons before the seed chits and then rabbits on the fresh new growth when it sprouts through The best thing you can do is regular recce's to check out the best areas to
  20. If your really limited to the choices you've put forward then I'd go superdome if not with a relatively harsh springer I'd be thinking light pellets, ie jsb rs, aa express, falcon accuracy plus and bisley lrg's as a starting group
  21. Bolt has to be separate as well? Is just in the ammo safe OK? I'd never heard that before and seeing as I've just applied for my FAC I think you've probably just done me a favour in mentioning that, thanks for the heads up
  22. The missing t section shouldn't make much difference, they are both the new style fitting. When you say it won't fill do you mean the air is escaping? If so its likely knackered o-rings on the filler or the guns so low on air its venting straight out through the barrel (in which case try cocking the gun before filling). Alternatively if no air is escaping are you sure your dive cylinder is filled to a higher pressure than the gun (if its below the pressure that's in the gun it obviously can't fill it) or if you're using a pump are the pump seals in good working order?
  23. Hello there Andy, nice to see you've found us. I'm james79 on AAOC and there are a few others off that site on here, I'm sure you'll enjoy mooching about here
  24. I've done both, bought an AAs410 after spending a lot of time researching so that I could make an informed choice and buy the right gun first time. After that I impulse bought an r10 purely on the looks of it. Now I've applied for my FAC one needs to be traded in for a rimfire and I have no hesitation in picking, its the s410 that's going so my advice would be look at a few, shoulder them and go with your gut! The sensible choice is rarely the more fun (if that was the case we'd all be living with grumpy, large middle aged women rather than blonde 18 year old nymphomaniacs oh reality checks a
