  3. This is a thread for any political discussions or links that aren't worth starting a new thread on, or don't fit elsewhere. Here's a couple o' interesting links I came across today. Background to the Saudi blockade of Qatar: https://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/tillerson-and-mattis-cleaning-up-kushners-middle-east-mess/ Yanis Varoufakis discusses the banking crisis and Greek bailout:
  4. What will the country do for Pole's once Britain leaves the EU. Is there any way to reverse this terminal decline, and will we be able to replace them fast enough with sub Saharan Africans?

Na, the best one's a bull terrier crossed with a shitzu - a bullshit.

On a more general level, people will do any job providing the price is right. Increasing the supply of labour through high levels of immigration is one of the reasons low paying wages have been stagnating, as they lose the ability to negotiate their wage level by withdrawing their labour. Many of the fruit pickers days will be numbered as their jobs eventually get replaced by machines and robots.
  7. I really don't want to know what stranger's sexual preferences are. Straight or bent, I'd rather they kept it to themselves rather than flaunting it. Then I might have more tolerance for them.

How did the fruit and veg growers survive before we were in the EU? If an exemption isn't made for seasonal workers from abroad they can either increase their wages, increase their mechanisation, or change to growing different crops. You mean 40 years ago? I'd say alots changed in that industry since then. A growing industry with dwindling interest from our indigenous population. As for growing different crops? you think fruit & vege farms will just switch to growing wheat & barley? It is a problem with no easy answer. Forcing our own people to do this work is one way? But unrealisti

If the Tories don't deliver on Brexit by removing the freedom of movement for EU nationals, I bet UKIP's share of the vote will go back up.

Do those figures include estimated numbers for illegal immigration?
  12. It's quite a difference seeing a longsword used properly compared with the random swinging around you get on TV. The training and dedication involved is similar to any other martial art you spend years doing.
  13. What's the usual procedure for people when their house burns down, does the local authority house them or find them temporary accommodation somewhere if they have no insurance?
  14. Someone was killed by a van in a hit and run incident.
  15. Though the other recent attacks have been inspired by and had the responsibility for them claimed by the ISIS terrorist group. It is unclear which terrorist organisation inspired this attack.
  16. I wonder which terrorist group he was affiliated to?
  17. Nothing superior no but this is a Christian country.....i support West Ham but if i walk into Millwalls ground shouting my mouth off about West Ham i will get shouted down.....this is historically a white Christian country we shouldnt have to feel guilty about that.Yes it's a Christian country & no you shouldn't feel guilty about it, but thats nothing to do with what I'm saying. I'm just a bit tired of hearing about Christian values & how society works so much better when it's Christian, you only have to look at South America, 90% Christian & look at the killing & hardship that

  22. Maybe slightly off topic, but I found this opinion piece a good read in The Times; on the EU, immigration and Islam. Might be of interest: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/only-brexit-can-save-our-values-from-an-abyss-rdqrgfmcj?shareToken=21628ce71b65ae21c86e930d0d0e6e01
  23. I'd say it's been obvious for years that the BBC pushes a pro EU multiculti agenda. That isn't surprising considering the funding the BBC gets from the EU. I've also noticed that adverts on TV are becoming more and more 'diverse'.
  24. For me, I don't like to see minority groups granted special rights that aren't shared with the rest of the population.
