  1. by pointed you mean the air arms hunter pellets ? if so there only in 22 they dont make a 177 version of them. i use to use them on crows and they where very accurate and hard hitting in my rapid mk 1 Aye mate thats what i mean.I have a theoben 22 so might give them a try give them a try mate you never no each rifle is different even if its the same make. Cheers jamie your welcome mate let us no how you get on with them. like i said when i used them in my rapid mk 1 and 2 it use to drop the crows and pigeons well.
  2. Pisces i cant see how it will wear the barrel out after just a 1000 or 2000 rounds ? yes its a very quick cal but the 22/250 is two and that lasts long if you look after it. dont forget the 17 rem doesnt use that much powder compared to the 22/250. if i where you mate i would still get the 204 if you want the long range and little recoil so you can see the hits. the other thing is with the fast cal rifles like 17 rem and 204 and 22/250 is its important to keep the barrel longer i think as the fps will be lost if the barrel is to short. well it mite not seam like much that is the

  4. you shouldnt have to shim the scope on it mate ! just get a better pair of mounts on it like sportsmatch or bkl.

  6. alot of people i have seen on different forums zero at 35 yards this is then smack on at 125 yards i think it is. i have never tryed it to see if it works i just perfer to stick to 100 yard zero and leave it at that. i have never had any problem with zeroing at that range and even rabbits close in drop with head shots so the hmr is very forgiving round.
  7. if i could only have one it would be the hmr its. more powerfull got better distance, safer round, flat shooting, and better for the odd fox. but if i where you i would ask for both as the 22lr has its place to. plus its more silent and great for shooting from a jeep to as you can get in range of rabbits on the night easy in a 4x4 so why waste the 17 hmr ammo which is more dear to buy when the 22lr can be run cheap
  8. hi mr l i was under the understanding that if you get invited to a friends shoot which is passed for the rifles say'' you have you can as long as you have permission to shoot there from the owner of the land who lets your friend shoot there ? is that wrong ? it is abit silly if the land is passed and you have permission from the farmer or land owner that lets your friend shoot there ? i no some people cant as the place where they shoot has the name of the farm on there tickets
  9. if you want it then go for it mate. as you said it will only be used for vermin control so your have loads of barrel life out of it. [ well inless you have loads of vermin to deal with ]
  10. thanks mate it was nice meeting you and your family. the gear was top notice very pleased with the nets your not wrong when you said there brand new
  11. you get them mate and it will be all the more sweeter after they have gave you the run about. thats some nice ground you have there. it looks perfect for foxes with those bits of woods and tree lines, i would love a place with some big open fields like that
  12. nice write up there mate. sounded like a wicked nights shooting and that is some pile of rabbits keep it up mate
  13. i will take it then mate i have pm'ed you to arange pick up
  14. hi mate where in worcestershire do you live ? i live in worcester itself so not to far away from you. i am intrested in this lot if you havent sold it. let me no if it hasnt gone allready please.
  15. i would like to have that amount of land to find it hard to get round it all. after all is to much land is better then not having any and if you got a 4x4 your sorted you can cover more ground so can do a couple of shoots anight
  16. still havent got my jewell trigger from the usa im guessing im going to get a letter off the royal mail anyday now asking to go to there office and collect my paskage along with some money i owe them
  17. worth a try mate. i would just go for it and be truefull on your forms then when you get to see the flo if he asks about the trouble you have been in. just be truthfull tell him it was a silly mistake and you really njoy your shooting and your very sorry for your actions and that it will never happen again. and your very worried that this could afect your chances of fac. i had the same problem i keep myself to myself but one stupid night just snapped at the local dickhead and gave him a good hiding. i didnt get done just got a warning but so did he. when the flo came round to see me h
  18. i wouldnt spend that much on a scope for a hmr mate its not really needed. but if you have the money then some sort of secondhand swarovski or s&b would be good. if it was me i would get a zeiss conquest 6.5x20x50 for about £450 or better still get bushnell elite tactial 4200 6x24x50 with side px. it isnt quite as good as the zeiss but it can be had for £300 and the optics are super clear and great under the lamp to. plus it had mil-dot so you can aim off at differnt distances. you proberly wont use all the mag but its nice to have when your doing abit of long range shooting.
  19. Ye i thought they wer howa's but not sure.I would like to go out there and try it but i dont think that i could do it full time like them,I mean the main bloke even said himself that he's away 9 months of the year doing it and he is now divorced and doesn't see his kid as much as he wanted.Lots of dedication. shame it wasnt 12 months away at a time mate
  20. the cases have been full length resized but like you said the load hasnt been made up for my rifle and it is on the high side so i mite dismantle them and get them redone with less charge. i have some 53 gr barnes bullets to with 35.5 gr varget. im going to give them a go as its not a very hot load so should be fine in my rifle.
  21. what made me smile was the asian lass had better grouping on the target range then the other two and she had never shot a rifle before. but she couldnt cut it when it was time to shoot the real thing. she looked like a pirate with that bit over her eye to was good to watch and looked a nice job to do i would like a go at it what was the rifles used one looked like a thumbhole stocked howa ?
  22. had some home loads given me mate there fine 40gr vmax norma brass and varget powder. the only thing is im a little funny about using them as the load is pretty hot so it will be at the high end on the fps scale ! and i guss to many isnt going to do the barrel to good ! as the jackets im not sure can you tell ? you mean the bt end if so its moly
  23. hi lads has anyone tryed the 40 gr hornady ammo in there 22/250's ? if so how you find it and what sort of damage does it do ? i guess it wont be as good over longer range as a 50 gr as the wind will get to it ? but up to 200 yards on crows and rabbits i bet its good stuff ? i just wanted to no as im picking some up in abit
  24. as above did anyone see it ? god those people at the kc club havent got a clue ? what made me smile is how the guy said the the dogs of today look better then years ago and that is how they should look today ! those bull dogs found it hard to walk yes....... that really healthy for them isnt it. ! the muppet
  25. I would like to know where you get Lapua in 22.250 please yes sorry, i did not realise lapua did not make brass for the 22.250 someone else earlier in the thread recommended lapua brass so i presumed it was availiable and as i reload in 6.5x55 and 7.62x53r in lapua brass, and the cases are the best i have used i endorsed the recommendation.i reload for a dozen different calibres using several different brands of brass and none of it comes close to the lapua including the winchester brass i use for my 22.250.shame lapua brass is not availible in in ths calibre, apologies for any confu
