  1. Oh it would be accurate to any distance in flat calm conditions, As Mr L says, it whether you can hit him in the Kill zone, I.e The Brain. And at 200 yards that target is Tiny. 220 yards is my furthest with the HMR but that was a Crow, needless to say he never felt a thing. I still would say 100 yards is far enough for a HMR where foxes are concerned. If you want to go further then a centrefire is wholly better. Regards SS agree with that sportingshooter 200 yards is a long long way. 200 yards is a good shot even with centrefire yes its more then powerfull but at l
  2. it wont be a floating barrel because the barrel on the style does touch abit but its not worth the bother trying to take some out of it as its plastic stock. if it was wooden then yes but on the plastic stocks it dont make any difference. i have a style and it groups the size of a finger nail at 60 yards with eley subs. it is super accurate so it wont be the stock mate. what i would do is try with eley subs, try with mod off, get the trigger kit for it your be surprized how it will help your shooting. but like you said if it isnt grouping then it could be the crown. look down the barre
  3. if i could have two rifles just for rabbit and fox then hmr for rabbit and 22/250 for fox but if you want to save money then 22lr for rabbit as its cheaper to run. and 223 for fox again cheaper to run the 22/250
  4. nice to see your putting it to good use mate you have 19 inch barrel on it now ? i bet that gives you a nice amount of shoots with the 280cc bottles
  5. ive never really seen it like that mate i guess its because the people i speak to on there only really hunt they dont target shoot. i like to go out sometimes and shoot at a target or bloons and different distances. or the odd day at minsterley but i get bored after abit my main shooting is lamping for rabbits or when i go with mates for foxes. i guess some people just dont like shooting vermin and find it boring. where im the otherway round i get bord shooting targets but sometimes the odd bot of target shooting improves your shooting and helps you to get to no your rifles better
  6. you will be fine bringing it back mr l i have took stuff back when i have been to canada
  7. quote name='Grim Reaper' date='Aug 13 2008, 04:31 PM' post='623163'] Absolutely Jamie - free choice for everyone is what i meant of course, but without the attitude that some have, like. My reply was aimed at those [few] who seem to treat membership of a web site/forum as being like a dick waving contest - or sort of like saying 'mine is better than yours' type of thing? I don't think we [ by 'we' i mean members of shooting web sites in general] should be bad mouthing each other as a whole, but rather we should all be working together to improve the public perception of us [shooters]
  8. im happy with both sites mate and i will come and go as i please on both sites
  9. i am a member on the bbs and here of course otherwise i wouldnt be posting on here. if the bbs says no pictures then its no pictures simple. im not going to lose sleep over it. half of my posts on there are shit anyway but because i have 5000 odd posts it dont mean im a paper puncher. i like both sites and i like the fact that some of the guys on here are not on there it helps me pick up more info on stuff then istead of the same stuff off the same people. i have never met terry doe but he seams like one of the good guys to me. when my old man broke his leg and was off work bore
  10. What do you do to clean the coke off with afterwards or do you just leave it on? ... run it under a tap and blast it with gunscrubber? I've got a wildcat whisper that could do with a clean. yes mate just rinse it off after. i have cleaned mine with wd40 to no problem.
  11. yes mate the trigger adjusts for pull and break. on the 22lr im not sure if it comes with 2 stage one as standard or weather you have to pay extra. i have the single stage on my hmr annie and it fully adjusts and is the best trigger i have used. saying that the brooks trigger kit on the cz is very good and perfect for hunting use. i have the cz style in 22lr like ive said. i like it as it has nickel finish so easy to look after. the rifle as accounted for loads of rabbits and if you want it for all out pest control then its the one to have
  12. i would go to the gunshop mate and have a good hold of them all and see which you like the best. i have a cz style 22lr and i fitted the brooks trigger kit and now the trigger is sweet the blot is a little stiff but soon wears in with use. over all a soild rifle and the accuracy is spot on at 60 yards its just ragged hole groups with eley ammo. i would have the cz and the money saved could get you a nice scope and ammo to. but if you do want to spend more then get the annie. i have the annie in hmr and its wicked. the bolt on the annie is super smooth a joy to use. the trigger is t
  13. i have a monteray its the same as the trooper. loads of room. massive boot and good off road. just need some good tires and your away. rock soild to and will run forever if looked after
  14. a good one to try is coke to put some fizzy coke in a tube and leave the sak in the for 20 mins
  15. i perfer 177 in standard 12ftlb form. its not more accurate like deker said. i think its more forgiving thats why alot of people like it better. in 22 i find the limit is 30 yards on vermin for me i just dont like the way the pellet drops on 22. where 177 is very flat and is pretty forgiving from 30 yards to 40. i shot a rabbit the other night at 47 yards with 177 so as long as you no the rifle it can be done
  16. standard air 30 to 35 yards fac air 35 to 40 yards rimfire 22lr 60 yards rimfire hmr 100 yards 22/250 centrefire 1 1/2 inch high at 100 yards
  17. the name s&b speaks for itself really you no its going to be top stuff weather its the german one or the one from hungry.
  18. i agree with snap shot if your going for centrefire scope buy the best you can get. after all well the Hawke range are godd clear scopes for the money i dont really think there suited to centrefire rifles. got to buy the best you can aford the last thing you want is the scope to lose zero or having to be sent off to be fixed.
  19. hi mate i dont no the full in's and outs of the blueprint as only john no's that. i guess its to do with polishing parts and other things inside the rifle. as for the bolt it looks nicer and it works better has you have a proper grip on it then to. his stuff is very good mate. i dont get any money off john or anything to try and get people to have his stuff. i put his name forward has he done work on my rifle and it makes a good rifle great simple really best thing to do is have a chat to him and he will put you in the no
  20. seen a tikka t3 6.5x55 at minsterly range it was a tack driver looked a very nice rifle. i guess it depends on which one feels best for you really. tikka just like a sako with out the price tag i think.
  21. no dont get me wrong i am happy with my set up we was just chatting in genral i do love my gun and my new scope it works a treat out last night till 3am got a few ill put some pics up in a bit the hw100 i dont like the stock how many shots do they do?? and i think its a bit longer so wouldnt be no better for me! daystate airwolf looks like a bit of kit but again dont like the stock and at the end of the day is it really that much better in the field?? i can drop a 20 pence peice at 65 yards with myne with i think is good enough oh and for all those keyboard warriors if you dont
  22. I would also think it its the crack or thump hitting the target. Mine CZ with sak mod on Winnie subs is silent, until it hits it's target. Lead on skull is quite a reasuuring sound, means humane kill.... Matt your right mate the 40 gr is abit of a smack Well...I was wondering....22LR with subs and a SAK or ASE, it really isn't going to get much quieter, (Mr Logic uses a DM80 Hornet moderator on his rimmy sometimes, it's good but I don't think it will be any better than a ASE...which probably has the edge on the SAK) but surely cbw can tell the difference between report crac
  23. what rifle is it you got there mate ? how much did it cost you? im looking at getting a new air rifle and want one in you power range hi mate the rifle is was a bsa s10 but the stalker version. the rifle was also tuned by john bokett who is the just that done the design for bsa. for around £170 pound he blueprinted the action fitted his own alloy reg made the carbon over barrel mod for it and set it up to around 28 to 30 ftlb it was super consistant and got around 45 fullpower shots with 200cc bottle. and come with test group 10 shots at 50 yards in a hole the siz
  24. if you want to put night vision on it try it on your s&b scope see of you get on it mite be ok. the optics of the s&b are more then clear ! but you mite need a scope that hasnt a fixed mag and one you can adjust the px on it to get clear picture. i no the mtc viper scopes work well with the night vision add on's and falcon ones will to i guess. but im not to up to date on these as i have never had night vision of my own only on rifles i have looked through
