CZ .17HMR 16'' or 20'' Barrel????
jamie g replied to hotel2zero's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
i think its more dear for the shorter one because they come into the country at 20 inch then some are recut and thread to 16 inch so thats why they are exta cost. that or it could be tht they no 16 inch barrel is more popular so charge more. i would go with the 16 inch barrel if i where you. or if you get a 20 inch barrel get the over barrel mod for it it will look pretty compact then. my annie hmr is 18 inch barrel with over barrel mod and its nice and compact. i dont think there willl be any difference in accuracy between 16 and 20 inch barrel. and if you did see the difference it -
ase cqb here is the dogs bollocks tames the 22/250 a treat. after every use take it off the rifle spray some wd40 over it and in it. and leave it thread up on a piece of paper and all is good. as for the noise difference to a 223 there is not really much difference mate. not to the ear anyway i couldnt tell next to my mates 223 with the same mod. i can get the mods for £265 if you give me a shout. i i was going for over barrel mod i would get the predator 8 well priced, stripable for cleaning, and well built plus if you have different caliber rifles you can swap and change the diff

the nylon proshot brushes are good mr logic put abit of solvent on them if you only want to give it a quick scrub. it dont react and mess the brushs up as much as the bronze ones. and then you can save them intill it needs a deep clean

Depends on you FEO, the safety of the area you are shooting, and the calibre of the rifle you are applying for. I take it you have permission from a landowner to shoot? If so, put this land down on a certificate aplication. What are you applying for? Matt agree get the farmer to give you a signed permission letter saying you can shoot there. i got the guys who's land i shoot over to write me a letter saying i could shoot air rifle, shotgun, rimfire, centrefire of course i didnt no the land was past. or if it would pass for centrefire but i was pretty sure it would as it is ve

what caliber rifle you talking about ? i guess rimfire if so you would be hard pressed to burn one out cleaning every 15 rounds is not needed to. as for what barrel ? what do you like the sound of and what would suite your shooting need sorry mate h=just looked at the top of the page it says hmr ! get one you wont be sorry

wd40 will be fine but i only use it on my rifles till the morning as its abit to thin oil to protect if the rifle is stored for abit of time. 3in1 oil is much better its alot thicker and so will protect more. THE KEY TO IT MATE IS NOT ! TO DO THIS AS YOU GET HOME RIGHT AWAY AS YOU TRAP THE DAM LEAVE THE RIFLE AT ROOM TEMP 1ST FOR ABIT. IF ITS REALLY WET THEN DRY IT OFF BUT LEAVE IT AT ROOM TEMP THEN OIL ON A RAG AND WIPE OVER.

boresnake will be fine mate or you could rod it if you wanted. but i would just use the boresnake. it is most likely the ammo if its just the odd flyers. if was the crown they would be all over the place richie's advise is good to allways take the mods off after use ! the crud and damp will go back down the mod and rot the crown overtime. spray abit of wd40 in the mod and leave so the thread is up on abit of paper. just give the face and crown a light wipe over and check a cotton bud will be fine. and when you use the boresnake make sure you pull it out nice and stright i b

As a matter of interest why the heavy barrel??? Been told that the heavy barrel deals with the heat better...? im blind here as i don't really know if this is the truth, can only trust gun dealers and your help on here! rimfires dont really get hot like centrefires mate so i wouldnt worry about the heat. some people like the look better of the heavy barrel rifles. some people like heavy barrel rifles more to as they perfer abit more weight. in 22lr i had the stand barrel but if i was going for hmr i would get the heavy barrel not because its more accurate. but i find

hi i use eleys in mine and they group super at 60 yards finger nail size have you cleaned the barrel at all ? how long have you had the rifle was it from new ? the reason i ask is i find 22lr shoots better with a dirty barrel when i got mine from new i set it up then boresnaked it then carried on shooting at the target again so see if it was off. a couple of shots was off but i new that mite be the case after cleaning the barrel. so carried on and it was soon on again. after that i leave it now intill i see the groups opening up. once they do that i boresnake and just leave it till

jamie g replied to trephilgar's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
mate i wouldnt bother it would cost more then the rifle. your better off just getting a hmr i think yes the ammo cost more but you have got more distance and more choice of rifles. plus the hmr is round about the same noise as a hmr anyway Many thanks for the reply. Only issue with the HMR is that the land is not passed for it or suitable for the HMR or WMR. Local police are happy for me to have a mach2 but have said no to anything bigger. Mach2 is better than nothing and dose give me loads of land to shoot on. regards jeremy so is the land passed for 22 -
the advantage is you dont go deaf from the noise mate ! it will help with recoil to and is a must really if shooting at night in a area that as other house close by. your be surprized how much a mod makes a difference on them. a t4 mod will be fine to use or some people go t8. i myself perfer the ase cqb mod a front mounted mod which is 5 inchs and the noise it cuts out on my 22/250 is super. thanks Jamie, just a couple of questions, first, the t4 and the t8 supressors,do they add lenght to your rifle

this is what you want second picture down in the link. i have them there very good. can be used for 22lr and hmr which i find they hold hmr ammo better. http://www.thegunshop.co.uk/mtm.htm

cz style 22lr with 16 inch nickel barrel. has brooks trigger kit fitted so has a very nice safe trigger pull and a dave allcock carbon proofed mod which is top notch and super silent. overall the rifle is in super condition and as shot no more then 500 rounds. its took a good amount of rabbits in that time to. the carbon mod was £70 pound on its own and is the most silent mod ive heard on 22lr. as its carbon to its super light and strong. rifle was £285 new [ still have the box and manual for it ] mod was £70 new brooks trigger kit £12.50 new total £367.50 new. im a
