  1. get the zeiss there optics are just as good as the s&b and your save money on thye mounts. as your more then likely need high to fit a 56 fornt lens where the zeiss is a 50 front lens. which is more then enough
  2. a little owl will be good for magpies and crows
  3. the powder is bunt out before 12 inches on a 22lr so your have no worrys with shorter barrel. short barrel is ideal for shooting in the 4x4
  4. i think your find it hard to get any aftermarket triggers for the sako. whats wrong with the factory trigger
  5. its really hard to see what a scope is like just buy looking thorugh two. it only when you have used it for a bit then gone back to the other that you see difference. of course this dont help as you can take one from a shop for a couple of months then take it back lol
  6. yes there is that as long as he got it on his ticket tho
  7. i have found alot of these gunshows the items they sell is shop soiled i would look on guntrader and pick up a bargain on there. sako is a good bet for a rifle. or remmington as there are so many after market things for them
  8. 22 hornet would be better for the rabbit and fox as one gun
  9. bargain this is. superbly built rifles these
  10. i have shot a sako quad hmr with one on deker. very nice and good glass. abit foggy on anything over 20 mag i found and not keen on the mildot recticl. if it was the normal 30/30 rectial then i would have one. but for the cash new you could get a zeiss conquest.
  11. i have found the fox caller uk to work well. just lately tho ive been going for the hare sound with it. if you bite it the pitch go's higher if you lightly bite it the pich is deep like a hare. on some nights it calls the owls in to lol
  12. i think 222 is making abit of a comback. its never going to sell like a 223 does but alot more people are seeing that there are bargains to be had with 222. there cheap to buy and if you want a cracker for not alot of dosh look for a tikka m595. they can be had cheap. i just picked one up for my dad fro 325 pound. the actions are better then the t3 tikka alot of people say as there stronger. and more smooth. i no where a one is to for 425 pound and its a bargain at that price. all you got to do is add scope and mod and your away.
  13. cheers lads. it was a good night they dont allways happen like that. got a good lamp man to that has the eyes of a bird of prey have seen alot about there lately and i new one night of a good amount would come. 1st night we went there we see 12 foxes so there is alot about to control. gary w yes i see that thread mate. you back on there now. still havent had a shot with your old 20 tac you sold mark. looking forward to it tho
  14. get a secondhand kit your get more for your bang so to speak.
  15. yes i no mate rules are rules on there tho. so got to stick to them. im after some more foxes the weekend
  16. went out foxing last night over a permission i share with a friend of mine micheal40 who gets on the different shooting forums. anyway after looking for a good hour so so on one part of the permission which also has a 100+ acre wood on it we hit a blank ? moved on to two 40 acre fields that the same land owner has but nothing on them to. things didnt look to good. we then move to more permission we have from the same farmer which hasnt been shoot on since the 50's ! as the foxes are paairing up we new there should be somefor the taking some for the taking. so in the mean time we shoot
  17. wouldnt bother renewing your shotgun with the fac if you only had it a year. just apply for fac if i where you
  18. get the 1 in 8 why limit yourself to the lighter bullets if the 1 in 8 shoots them well. only thing i will say is your find it hard to get a 1 in 8 twist in the moment there waitng on them over here and they have been waiting for months
  19. speed isnt everything lads accuracy is the key. but you all no that. shame most 204's wont shoot 40's you could shoot heavier bullets with aftermarket barrel. but you would be losing the point of what the 204 is good at then
  20. as long as your land will pass for the maximum cal then i cant see no reason why they wont put on there 22cf or 6mm centrefire. you would think that if a bit of land was past for 223 you could shoot any 22 cf there. as most forces will pass land for all 22 centrefire or all 6mm centrefire. but its not allways the case i see a post not long back where a guy said his firearms officer said his land is past for anything up to 223. which i find abit silly. why not all 22 centrefires ? he asked for 22/250 and the flo said its to powerful for the land ! how silly is that if there is back
  21. a lad i no has 40 grain vmax shooting out of his 20 tac at 3850 with reloader 10 so it will give you the speed in the 204
  22. doesnt really burn enough powder to worry a barrel in hmr. as above tho as long as there looked after there last for years and years and years. check the crown and have a good look in the chamber if this is very dirty your no then it hasnt been looked after
  23. the no 4 recticial will be good for fox and deer. but on long range stuff like rabbits and crows it will block them as the crosshair is thick
