  1. I agree jamie ! But like yourself and most other people on here my stuff is not british ! Even though i could try to claim some moral high ground with a british designed rifle my AI was made in america . I bet the raw materials for the british product are sourced from outside the uk ? your right there. shame as we should have some superb rifles made here but the cost of them would be to high. rpa rifles look nice but the cost of them is something else ?!
  2. i decap the primers out the case clean the primer pockets with tool. then sonic clean them till there clean. let them dry then resize and trim them
  3. nice to have stuff thats british made. but i allways pick what i think is best 1st. and if its british then thats a bonus
  4. min cal for muntjac and cwd is 222 mate not 22/250. it would help if we new what deer you have on your land and have you got permission from the farmer to shoot them ? if you only shoot muntjac then a 22 centrefire min 222 will be fine but if you have roe then min of 243 is needed. dont forget 243 is legal for all uk deer. even if some people perfer to use larger calibers for the bigger deer. if it was me and you can get 243 fromt he start then go for that. if not then 223 would be good as you could shoot heavier bullets from it then 222 or 22/250.
  5. Quite heavy though I seem to remember, not that you'd notice it on your cannon they are not the lightest but there compact. i wouldnt swap for any other mod out there. those over barrel ones look like coke bottles ha ha
  6. there all as accurate as each other. it all depends on what you want varmint, short barrel, long barrel, wooden stock, plastic stock, the annie hmr has nice trigger and smooth action, but the cz wood is better, inless you get the thumbhole annie. sako you can swap the barrels, they offer wooden and plastic stocks, good trigger standard and varmint barrels. the choice is yours. if price and wait isnt a worry then cooper arms have some lovely hmr's
  7. got the ase and its superb. not big like the over barrel mods. dont mark the barrel like most of them do. and there really soild build. ive had mine close to 3 years now and not a mark on it. it fixed so cant strip it down. but you look down the baffles and there is never any gunk in the way.
  8. sorry to pop your bubble mate but just saying your applying for 243 for fox and deer and for zeroing of rifle on ranges and land over which i lawfully have authority to shoot wont just get you a open ticket. not many people get open right away. inless you can prove someway of shooting them you need it for your job say ? the police will check the land to see if its past. they wouldnt just hand out a open fac and then let the person go where ever they have permission. it takes time to get open. inless your lucky. all guns are a danger as we no. but giving some one a 243 on open is scary
  9. if its like a rapid its not just changing barrel your need a 20 cal probe and the 20 cal mag
  10. sorry to pop your bubble mate but just saying your applying for 243 for fox and deer and for zeroing of rifle on ranges and land over which i lawfully have authority to shoot wont just get you a open ticket. not many people get open right away. inless you can prove someway of shooting them you need it for your job say ? the police will check the land to see if its past. they wouldnt just hand out a open fac and then let the person go where ever they have permission. it takes time to get open. inless your lucky. all guns are a danger as we no. but giving some one a 243 on open is scary
  11. depends on the force area but i wouldnt think he will get a 243 right from the off. inless he has some sort of mentoring. well the safety side is still the same you said yourself. he has no use of rifles before
  12. 34? They'll be bloody fast for a .222 Let us know how you get on, I'd be interested to know They are fast, on top of 18 grns of N110 they are doing somewhere near 3800 fps, they are far more accurate than the varmint grenades and ive taken rabbits out to 250 yds with them yes wait till we sit up on the hill side picking rabbits off in the summer with them
  13. yes gary there rare in 1 in 8 twist as the most factory coopers are 1 in 14 in the br i see inless you ask them for the 1 in 8 or 1 in 10 i think ? the m595 is a lovely action and trigger. im keen to see how the 40 gn vmax go. got some 34 gn dogtowns to for the rabbits
  14. MOST IMPORTANT THING is to get the best optics you can for your cash. weather fixed mag or adjustble mag. good glass is the key on centrefires
  15. thats great chaps thanks, its a lot of money to spend and not be happy, il look for a zoom cheers why i see it you got the option of tuning down a scope with adjustble mag. but you cant turn a fixed mag up
  16. just give the police force your land come's under a ring and ask about it. tell them the farmer has been on to you to sort the vermin out and you want to no if its past. because you dont want to lose the land
  17. just like to tell you lads that if any of you live in the midlands and need some work doing then richard pope is your man. i just picked up a bargain the other week for my dad a tikka m595 in 222. lovely action and stock looks like new ! for the small sum of 325 pound posted to my rfd. anway it wasnt threaded so popped over to mr popes yesterday and dropped it off. for barrel cut and screwcut and recrown. ive had richard fit a jewell trigger before and no how good his skills are on the tools. other people i no had stuff done buy him and alot of people round the uk travel to get stuff done
  18. those ferrets you got are a old type micheal. we found one in bad health a year or so back. and i had never seen one with the long noise and body like that. we got it back to health and i think there is good promise with it working. its good to have ferrets off other good ferrets but not all will always work well. young ferrets are best entered in some small burys to srat with. get them use to getting in the rabbits 1st and then once they get the hang put them down some bigger burys. you have seen that one ferret we have mike and he works superb. we will take your ferrets out next wee
  19. yes most bunnys are below ground in the day so ferreting is best way. we pack in ferreting when the weather changes. as the rabbits start to breed. and the ferrets kill the young below ground. and then its stop start all day. isnt worth the bother
  20. i wouldnt bother with the fac air inless you really think your use it. 22lr and hmr is fine.
  21. some people fit a low what bulb in the cabinet the heat from it is enough to keep damp out and keep guns fine
  22. your have to get a bigger cabinet then. he wont grant you them inless you have the right size cabinet to keep them all in
  23. yes reloading is your best bet. not to far from gloucester
