yeah think your right ,can remember him on radio 4 talking about a book and hes love of the hobby!Cant be to many celebs into it ?Top of my head i can think of dan ackroyd and robbie williams. Thought you were winding me up there,so googled it ,Garth brooks,Hank Williams Jnr,NAS car racer stirling marlin and as you say Robbie are all into it ,wyman has a signature detector with Cscope .I guess its their way of getting away from it all ?

Nik ,have you actually seen these in real life? Bloody hideous creatures,only seen them online ,as you say usually troops in the desert ,think they can kill mice ,small lizards ! Read that they run after you ,actually just trying to get into your shade,definately a species i wouldnt want in the uk!

Pretty sure they never worked and were a scam. I can't see how it is possible to know if someone is receiving a signal, you can tell if someone is transmitting one though, the Germans used detector equipment to catch French resistance fighters who were sending messages to England Thought as much,sums the scheming bsatards up ! They should have developed a Peado detector van ,would have gone into meltdown at BBC HQ !
