  1. Had a wee walk on some perm late this afternoon.nothing serious just to walk the dog and get an idea of whats still about.out for a couple hours, letting the dog work loads of cover.he was absolutley loving it. we stopped ferreting and lamping a few weeks ago and the dog was keen as hell.i just stood back and watched the dog use his nose etc.absolutley brilliant to watch.had one catch and another couple of very close calls as the rabbits made it home to near by burrows.completly hooked on watching my dog work now.always good to show the farmer I'm still picking up rabbits when just walking the
  2. Had my whippet out yday afternoon, after a good chase he returned with blood pissin from his paw.he's somehow took a big deep gash out of his big pad.stopped the bleeding and cleaned up etc.he was limping a wee bit this morning but apart from that it doesn't seem to bother him at all.i have put anti septic stuff on it.is there a risk of infection if a kept walking him or should I just rest it for a day or two? Lol I know this isn't much but just wondering about it getting infected.cheers
  3. How can a vet neuter a Jill Ferret for £25,,,,it's a major operation,,, Honestly I think 90 is a fare price ,,,,you lot are insan,,,I can understand lads getting pissed at vets charging 1000 quid for ops on dogs ect,,,, But 90 quid to open a ferret up,,,take out the womb and Fallopian tubes,,,and put it all back together again without killing the creature,,,or giving it an infection,,,, There not gutting a rabbit you know,,,,this is a living berating creature,,,that will still be living after it's been sliced open and stuck back together.. Fucks sake it 50 quid an hour for a greasy mechani

  10. Had a quick hour or two out with the lamp the other night with my whippet.he's quite small at only a tiny bit over 19tts.quite a bit of the ground I work is rough.and because of his height he isn't seeing as many rabbits as I'd like, especially if they lie down tight.he had two rabbits on his first couple of runs but then missed a few.also scared quite a few away as I had to walk up on a couple cos he couldn't see them.as I've got a bit more time now I'm thinking of getting a lurcher pup later this year to bring on to use on the lamp.so just a wee question to the boys who use whippet/collie/gre
