Never had the dog at work with me this morning so since it was such a nice morning and I was finished the back of 8 i decided to take the dog a walk over some permission ive got.not been on it all summer so when was getting in the car decided bugger it and grabbed a wee Jill to see if we coukd get a cheeky bolt or two for the dog.   3. Top bloke! My most memorable day out ferreting was 25,just with the ferrets and nets,only 10mins from the house.no digs and before I was finally be able to get my own dog will be our first night out lamping next week.im sure it'll be memorable,lets just hope for the right reasons lol

If a hob hasn't been looked after it can defo look a lot older.i picked up a big hob ferret 3 years ago of the side of a very busy road.he looked skinny,scabby and very old.thought he was on his way out.now after 3 years of living in a clean hutch,good diet,and more than his fair share of work and also being responsible for 3 litters,he's now the picture of health,I think he must be about 7ish.he'll defo be working this season and hopefully be lining my best Jill next year.
  6. He's just over 18months mate.he used to hunt up all the time,was really annoying,bit of time spent with him and he soon learned,he's not perfect by a long shot but he learning and looks like he's getting well into the swing of things:)

Had my wee whippet at work with me this morning in the golf course like I do every wknd.he's been catchin mixy rabbits all summer but this morning a big healthy rabbit ran across the fairway and he was on it at 100mph and nailed it just as it got to the long grass,picked it up and I could tell he never had a proper grip of it then the silly bugger dropped it so the rabbit had another break for freedom.a couldn't help but laugh when he got it again and this time there was no way he was letting go.was nearly finished my shift and it was pissing down so I was calling him but I thought the wee shi

My wee whippet will run through thick cover,he will try get through absolutely anything,he doesn't do that well when rabbits get into cover but gets 10/10 for effort.he is an absolute nightmare when we get home and he's been stung by loads of nettles.its enough to put you off getting another one

I've just been on that a1 decoy looking for a battery pack etc as ive just been given a lamp by a friend.i came acros a lamping pack 12volt 7amp battery,adapter and charger.surely I'm going to need a 12 or 14amp battery but can't see these offered in this 'lamping kit'' surely it should be available with the bigger battery but can't see it????

  15. Should be fine,he's had a few young ones during the summer and a fair few mixy when we've been out so looking forward to getting him out on the lamp.and getting some extra peace from the wife of course haha
  16. I have a whippet at 18months,was out with the ferrets fair few times last season,next month will be his first ever time out with the lamp.hope all goes well and everything clicks fairly soon lol
  17. Anybody ever fed moles to there ferrets?im catching a lot of moles at the minute and wondered if I could give them to the ferrets?
  18. Its hard work mate.some people are just like that,or had to chase people of there land before so go off on one.be patient,and prepared for more knock backs but once you get a place or two and are reliable,word soon spreads and it gets easier.lol atb
