  2. Aye that's a good vid to follow.watched it a fair few times
  3. Your Jills were skimming and the Hobs were grafting...not there fault you cant find them and dig em out quick enough. If you caught 20 with the Jills and didn't dig...you probably left 10 below ground.[/ I see you're point.but I honestly don't think that's always the case.jills will stay with a stubborn rabbit and kill under ground.i prefer my rabbits to be bolted.what I'm getting at as decent size Jill can be a good a worker as any hob.im my opinion
  4. You will notice a lot more rabbits with red urine when there has been prolonged snow or heavy frosts when the rabbits have been feeding on young trees and bark and tree roots.atb
  5. Finally had a bit of time last night and made my first one lads!sucsess!haha Sitting on the couch just now waiting on the rain to go off then I'm going to take the dog for a walk with a ferret in one pocket in my net in the other and test it out haha
  6. I really don't know where anybody gets the tale that hobs work better than Jill's.in my opinion that's crap.you've obv never worked or kept good jills!of course some hobs will work better against some jills that arnt up to the task.I've been out ferreting with jills one day, gone home with over 20 rabbits no digs, back out the next to a different part of the same perm with hobs and spent the day digging and trying to find hobs underground and went home with 5.so who was the better worker?hmmm?it really is everybody's own prefrence, everybody will tell you different.I have a team and I like to wor

  8. Been out everyday since Saturday.with a total of about 30 rabbits.couldve been a lot more but bolted some to the dog some were caught but the majority of them got away.not the dogs fault because we were asking a lot of him because of the ground we've been ferreting.still had a brilliant 4/5 days.ferrets and dog working well.only managed 4 this morning on our last trip of 2014 but ferrets and dog got a good run out again.dog managed 1 today, rest were in the nets.dogs were working the cover well and put plenty home, but we're leaving them for another day.all the best when it comes folks

  12. Was back out this morning for a bit.came home and went to the hut to hang the 2 I caught this morning with the ones from yday so I could go get some lunch before skinning and jointing them.opened the shed to find I must've locked the neighbours cat in there this morning when I was sorting my gear.in a short space of time it had managed to climb up onto a shelve and pulled two rabbits down, completely strip one and had just started on the other!i had either locked it in yday or this morning!crafty wee bugger! 18. Out this morning first thing, perfect weather for it,nice crisp frost.we started next to a little road leading to a row of little farm cottages.3 out the first set, about 15 holes, pulled one out dead that the little Jill had got to grips with.next warren, about the same,3 out this one again, the dog catching one as it came out a hole without a net.moved one, netted a 2 holer and two bolt straight away, one into the net dog was on too the other one gave a good chase but we were in a bit of cover and the dog couldn't get close enough for a strike before it went down a burrow we had already done.one fo
