  1. i will see if i can find the video of them doing it.
  2. you can see the tubing running around then rock face where the safety line clips onto on that video, most scary part would be unhooking it and reattaching it to get past the anchors in the rock face TBH
  3. He said it looks worse than it is, you are attached to the rock face by a safety line,
  4. My sons mate did it last month, i shit myself watching the video lol
  5. Not got any dogs now. i tried most things from shavings, hay, straw to shredded jays cloths, all have there advantages and disadvantages, best to try them and see what suits you best, as everyone's setup is different.
  6. sadly managing a carp fishery now means all other fish are a nuisance and cost money by eating food intended for carp, i have been told of thousands of pounds of silvers put on the muck heap after annual netting, I am not knocking carp fishing in its entirety but rather the commercialising of it over recent years. When i first started fishing catching big carp was seen as an impossibility, nowadays if you have the cash in your pocket its as easy as shelling peas,
  7. I use to fish a water where 100lb of tench was not uncommon in a day session, the water is roughly 3 acres with a depth of up to 18 meters {old clay pit) there were around a dozen big carp in there but that was it, Later when a carp fishery closed down eighty carp to 30lb were added. fast forward 10 years and if you catch 3 tench a season its a good result. they do not mix.
  8. I do catch them on ledger gear but accidental when targeting other species.
  9. Lots of waters succumbed to the Mud Pig Brigade. This appears to be showing signs of turning again, Silver fish waters appear to be becoming more popular, The Carp world is a perfect storm Big egos' and greed form the owners and tackle producers selling loads of over priced gear that the angler does not really need, Just like pigeon shooters ??
  10. When i lived close to a river i fed mine on Pike, great source of protein, Just chuck the whole fish in, vary rarely was there anything left.
  11. Even better when most were caught on a traditional lift method set up, Actually beat my PB of 8 years the other week with a clonking 8LB 12oz fish,
  12. Just a few of this summers fish
  13. Been doing a bit more fishing than usual over the summer months, one day session on a 47 acre gravel pit
  14. Most dog tracks will have someone who sells it, i used it for years, only drawback is it gets everywhere as it sticks to the dogs as they dry out. Then the wind blows it around and it also clogs drains.
  15. Dremel with a cutting disc is my normal route
  16. booked in for a nail trim next week, not sure on what colour to have though lol
  17. You and me both, the other foot isn't much better
  18. A short session a few weeks ago
  19. Extremely fast off the mark, good ferreting dogs, good on the lamp, on the right terrain, But a bit fragile for an all rounder, But as they say, Horses for courses, If they fit your ground and hunting style, then, Hard to beat.
  20. i have the same knife as do a few of the lads i know, never herd a bad thing said about these knives,
  21. Buy him a log splitter before he ends up looking like some red neck from braving Alaska Lol. good on him and on you and your good lady, Kids are all different i have 2 both adults now. one went down one route and the other choose something different, All you can do is your best to guide them in the right direction, still makes you feel responsible when they choose another, but that's just part of being a parent, As for grandkid's f**k me. My 2 are just like live wires, need eyes up your arse and the stamina of an ox. I need a lay down after a few hours Lol
  22. Meloxicam and other generic named products are the same stuff.
