  4. I recon he will get it to I was in a fair bit of trouble a few years back 17 convictions of trouble and I have a shotgun, .22 wmr and I have recently received my licence for a .223. I made a couple of appointments with the super in my area so she could see that my attitude had changed and I had settled down. I was nothing but honest with her and now I have my guns. maybe you could make an appointment to see your local officer and show him/her that you are not a danger. it might help your da's case.
  5. good bag mate roll on more nights like that.
  6. lovely dog you have there I want a stag hound and well done your nephew.
  7. As someone else said the Wildcat P8 (and others) are not small. Many seem unaware of the P8 COMPACT version, I was originally. The Compact version is still not small, but it is a LOT smaller than the full version and if my memory serves me correctly is about 170g Lighter as well. I have them on my .223, .243 and .308 now and they work just fine. CentrefireSet 002aEdit.jpg Deker is the compact version as quiet as the standard version?
  8. thanks a lot for your replies lads after doing some "youtube" researching iv come down to 3 moderators the reflex t8, the wildcat predator 8 and the dm80. im favouring the wildcat predator 8 because you can strip it down, its stainless, lighter than the reflex t8 and 50 euro cheaper and unlike the dm80 I can get it in Ireland. thanks again for your help lads.
  9. I prefer a tight beam it closes down how much the rabbit can see and keeps as much light out of the dogs eyes as possible as for long slips never on a dogs first season but after that yea why not make him work for a few. Edited to say lamping on a full moon is fine if you have loads of rabbits but if your like me and there is very few rabbits about I don't think its worth while heading out you only make the rabbits wise to you and your dog which in return means less rabbits caught.
  10. I know, you have just seen Shooter on Freeview and you're going to try an empty plastic coke bottle! I was thinking more an empty oil filter ah no I just meant I had a better idea of what a moderator is and what to look for, thanks again.
  11. thanks for your replies lads I have a better idea now anyway.
  12. you have a dm on your .17 and your 243 does that mean any mod will fit any gun? or is it not that simple?
  13. hi lads I will be collecting my new well new to me .223 rem soon. it has iron sights but im taking them of and adding a sound moderator. any advice on a good moderator would be much appreciated I haven't got a clue about them or what models are any good, thanks lads.

  17. I have the light force and it has as you said the best beam of all lamps at least the ones iv seen. I just cut the cigarette connection of and connected it straight to a lawnmower battery put that in a backpack and never looked back.
  18. There aint very many around here at all. the english brock billy at 50 pounds no dog single handed would kill yote hounds would jack the english badger is defo more forbiddable than the yote just a thought no dog would kill a badger single handed well that's not true. out lamping I saw a big deerhound/grey pick an adult badger straight up in the air and shake the life straight out of him the dog opened his hole under side guts and organ every were it only lasted about 10 seconds. another day I saw a big staff grab a badger by the head and crush his scull he killed a few badgers wi
  19. its far to bright here to head out a full moon and not a cloud to be seen.
  20. good shooting lads I went out for a few hours myself today with the .22 wmr. I got 9 rabbits and they were very heavy in the backpack by the time I got home. very windy here to but at least there was no rain.
  21. get a bottle of Panacure its a litter for 35 euro so what ever that is in pounds and it will do a 25kg dog about 40 to 50 times. Edited to say it is an oral suspention.
  22. a mate of mine had a dog a few years back lurcher to lurcher breeding for a couple of generations I don't know if there was saluki in him but if there was you couldn't see it, this dog caught 3 hares regular he was a 26" strong dog.
  23. bulls**t he just has a head strong pup. I know lads who would keep half a litter of lurchers and keep a hole litter of terriers and have no problems. at some stage everyone has a head strong dog but that doesn't mean you should only have one.
  24. yea make your own its way cheaper.
