Hemp has a multitude of uses and it is bio degrable and with no harm to the enviroment/planet. A few of the things that spring to mind is Paper which has us cutting down lots of trees but by using the alternative in hemp no trees are needed to be cut down and also Paper from Hemp is a better quality and doesnt "Yellow" over time. Another thing when comparing the fighters of the older days with the modern day fighters is things that were not available to the older fighters but available anywhere these days and have been found used by athletes in every performance sport not just Boxing. Basically Im getting at Steroid/Ped use in the sport. No need to name names but a lot of modern day Boxers have been caught out using them and served bans etc from the sport but how many in the modern game are actually using them and have not been caught ? Should Olympic style drug testing be mandatory for all fighters ?

Inan When you read up on the old fighters and see how often they fought and the corruption in the sport it was quite remarkable.Even today fighters change promoters to avoid facing the other Champions at the same weight, fighters today are certainly treated a lot better than they were back then .

Neems I agree , Calzaghe fought them at the end of there careers but both were still able to drop him. This isn't true. Burley never got a title fight because he was ,black, too good,and his style was not fan friendly,plus for some of his career he was managed by Fritzie Zivic whom he beat but Zivic would not defend his title against him. Burley and Robinson's careers did not overlap by much.In1940 Burley was the no3 welterweight,1941 no5 Robinson no 1. By 1942 Burley was rated no 2 at middleweight while Robinson was still a welter.where he would stay for 9 years. Charlie Burley against Sugar Ray Robinson would have been a fight, unfortunately Burley couldn't get the fight because he refused to take a dive . Due to Burleys honesty he never got to fight for a World Title which was a shame when you look at his record and all the HOF that he beat throughout his career. Read a few blogs today saying that Jill Dando was silenced because she was going to "out them all",apparently. Why not while testing ,measure and weigh the different silencers and also have the db readings for them also,a lot of silencers vary in size by quite a lot. Be interested to know which silencer performs best for its size.

It's simple not all performance bred animals make the grade. You can breed a litter of pups off the best workers in the world and some of them turn out and some don't,it's the same for pigeons , horses , camels whatever. Obviously the better bred stuff will have a higher percentage that do make it.You can raise a litter of pups and only you have a hand in there upbringing some will make it some won't so you can't always blame the owner. Froch was proper nervous on his ring walk for the first fight,he knew what lay ahead . I watched Froch/Groves behind the ropes on SKY last night and I didnt realise how badly hurt Froch was off the knockdown,if that had happened earlier in the round Groves would have stopped him.
