  1. Jonnie the original question- which calibre springer do you prefer? Please type into the small search engine (top right of this page) ------ Tx 200 Hc .177 At Work - this is a typical shooting photo with the .177 cal. (type letter for letter, capital for capital) (although you have seen this) atb
  2. Welcome to the forum Shootinj The old saying "buy cheap, buy twice"- keep that in mind when looking for a set up for £150. The lads are doing their best to point out the best options with " your budget at the moment", carry on as you are and save up to around £300 or more, that will open a lot more doors for you and put some real quality rifles within your reach. atb ( all the best)
  3. Leave the dogs at home if you ferret the green houses mate,- ferrets, dogs, rabbits bolting and green houses don`t mix atb
  4. Finished the final zero of the T-Rex tonight getting regular groupings to 5p size at 36 yds . I`m looking forward to some good hide work with this springer as i have a lot of confidence with her and the brand new, shiney Primos shooting sticks. atb
  5. Shooting BN . Is the XXXXXXXXXXXXL greenhouse part of your permission ? If it is then you might just have a fabulous free indoor range to use. atb.
  6. (In a DEEP voice) --- Ah, so that`s why Mac likes .22 is it ? Always wondered why such a big bloke, like Mac, has such a high pitched, squeaky voice and wears nail varnish.
  7. Mmmmm and the song goes on. Rez makes a good point,- FT and HFT boys use .177 "like it`s going out of fashion".So "why is that"? It is obvious in my mind that hft and ft lads are looking for the "best accuracy" and consider .177 to be the better calibre to achieve that with, especially in "Hunting Scenarios". So i wont argue with the preferred calibre of thousands of HFT, or FT shooters, - ACCURACY is what they are after, (not power). Simon also makes good sense with the accuracy of his springers and the kinetic energy that a .22 delivers on impact compared to
  8. A seasoned shooter of spring rifles would say,- smoothness .22. "---" -----------------"-------------------"------------" ,.177 is utterly lethal when you know how to shoot springers. A seasoned shooter of PCP`s would say, - .177 , deadly accurate. " -------------" ----------------" ---------------", - .177 , deadly accurate full bloody stop ! At sub 12 ft/lbs .177 is "by far" the dominant calibre,- "you could check air gun/calibre sales if you like" atb
  9. Lads. (.177 cal`) i will tweak the zero out to 36 yds dead tomorrow, this will give me a pbr of 8.9 yds to 41.1 yds. Basically from 9 yds to 41 yds your pellet "STAYS" within a 1 inch flight path as long as you do your bit with any wind/ breeze. After 41 yds with .177 cal is the only time to "Know your mill dots". I calibrate every 5 yds after 41 yds onto my card for memory but i much prefer to shoot around the 30/ 35 yd mark as much as possible. atb
  10. Started a basic zero this afternoon off the Primos shooting sticks to 32 yds and i`ll try to tighten the groupings tomorrow if i can. The outer circles are a 5p coin outline. I will follow up with the HW 100`S ready for the winter months and those spindle branches atb P.S click on the photo lads and it should enlarge (hopefully).
  11. Yes the reticule on MTC seems to suit my shooting well.( older eyes) Saying that though, if the Hawke scope gets employed we all get the "chair gun pro" for free, which is a marvelous tool to have. I will probably stick with MTC and the old fashioned way of "Near and Far calibration" which puts me in the field to calibrate rather than a computer card.No disrespect intended. I notice that Si Pitterway uses a Hawke Panorama 4-12 x 40 ao, ir half mill dot and chair gun - does make you think when you have watched him .
  12. AA T Rex mk 3 hc.177. I use her a lot for hunting. Very low recoil, top, top accuracy and full power. Hope it helps.
  13. I have both the thumb hole and sporter in the HW 100`S and still cannot decide which i prefer after more than 2 years.
  14. I have an eye on the MTC Viper 4-16 x50 ir . A very highly recommended air rifle scope for hide work,- any thoughts lads, please ?
  15. Woe there, i said "WOE" ! Can you repeat that please Mac, nice and slow and a bit louder too. .177 then you will have one "deadly rifle" sorry Mac what was that ? .177 THEN YOU WILL HAVE ONE "DEADLY RIFLE" Thanks Mac we all heard the repeat statement Mac can see the light ! Mac can really see the light .177 Best sub/12 ft lb air gun calibre by a country mile.
  16. Nice to see your scope is on - "the right way up" this time Mac. Are you aware that you have broken the plant and plant pot with the rifles bipod, - just saying like. p.s twat
  17. Nice set up there Dave , very nice indeed. Lawn wants mowing and a hedge trim wouldn`t go a miss.
  18. Hi Dave, - yes mate sports match all day long- totally agree. The scope is the question ?
  19. Buy some mate if possible,- "there`s a bit of a difference" - i assure you !
  20. Matty i`ve used AA Fields Diablo in both .177 and .22 and both really "slam home" with outstanding accuracy and power. I`m using the Mambas a lot with great returns mate - superb scopes and reticules . The choice is yours atb
  21. Matty - put the primos Jim Shokeye shooting sticks under her when you can,- the accuracy goes to another level . So much so that i am going to upgrade her scope to compliment her correctly. atb
  22. No-ooooo Mac - Dont forget the "Twat club initiation ceremony " you can`t just walk into "THE TWAT CLUB" Mac ?
