  1. here are a few photos of my tikka t3 22-250 stainless/synthetic. i have been thinking about changing rifles to a 243 and thought i would ask you guys roughly how much it is worth? from new it has only probably fired around 300 rounds and the rifle is in perfect condition. i would be keeping the scope but the rifle could go with the t8 mod and optilock rings and bases. accuracy wise it shoots 1/2 groups at 100 yards with federal ammo, 40,50 and 55 grain bullets. any rough guestimations will be much appreciated . i have edited to add i have tried guntrader but there are no rifles
  2. very nice david, what accuracy do you get at 100yards with your rifle? and do you reload?
  3. i have always found lamping with the red filter attached the best way to get numbers , but the most enjoyable times are late summer , on a nice warm evening lying next to big warrens if you do it for just pest control.
  4. did you manage to sell the .222 ? i paid about £450 for cz, mod, scope, mounts and 100 rounds of ammo.
  5. mark will give storm time to heal to run the heat and i am sure WH would do the exact same thing if cat was injured
  6. would make a fantastic dog for picking-up, will you try your pups at this? i have always liked the sound of this cross

  8. fantastic rabbit dogs , i know i dont have a pure whippet , she is a 3/4 whippet 1/4 beddy, she doesnt catch as much as my bigger dog but is a joy to watch sticking to the rabbits bum twisting and turning it inside out and she looks really delicate and i run her in places i wouldnt run my bigger dog as there is less chance of her getting injured.
  9. i would go for an anchutz for an extra £50 , have a look on guntrader, there is LOADS of alternative guns.
  10. what distance will you be shooting at? i would go for the 17hmr, the .22 can be scary at times when you get the dreaded ricochet. have you thought about the fac air rifle ? if i could afford one of these i wouldnt bother with the .22lr.
  11. well i was delighted that the frozen ground had thawed out last week and was able to get out with the dogs. first night i was out with kim and took 4 rabbits but no photo second night max took 7/7 and the third night max took 3/5 , max should of taken 5/5 but one of the rabbits ran into a field drain and the other rabbit just outsmarted him by stopping on the spot when he was in full flight and teeing the rabbit up for the strike.he does seem much keener now to finish the chase as quick as possible since he hasnt been out at all for weeks.
  12. thanks john, best thing about the mod is hearing the THUD after taking the shot.
  13. great write up john, why dont you have a moderator fitted to the rifle?
  14. 70 is a bloody good number nice shooting.
  15. great shooting, i want that night vision what magnification is it?
  16. nice shooting mr_logic, for the glare try moving the scope mount to the back of the scope and put the sunshade on the leupold with the flip up scope cover , i have a leupold on my 22-250 and this is what i have done to stop any glare
  17. i have a 3-9x50 on my .22 and is perfectly fine for the ranges i shoot over and would reccomend it.
