  1. thanks grant , that was my max, just turned 2 last month
  2. well since i have started now i feel i can comment on this thread. i reload for 243 and i estimate i save £1.40 per round, i took a visit to the gunshop yesterday and for 20 rounds of federal the price was £40 so in theory i save loads but in practice i now shoot 4 times the amount.
  3. ha ha bore guides, I spoke to my gunshop a while ago and he said that they sell hardly any, maybe 1 or 2 a year! but yep, I'd get separate gear for each caliber... very good
  4. nice one stu, i know exactly what you mean about being rather out of puff after trying to cut off a fox, it makes it even more satisfying once you get it though.
  5. great bag there lewis, did you decoy them ? what was the head count at the end of the day ?
  6. and the other most important piece of equipment along with the cleaning rods is most definately a bore guide Deker is right in saying you should buy the seperate rods / jags and brushes for each calibre.
  7. i have always found the red best for rabbits and the amber is great for foxs. It is great seeing those orange eyes glowing back at you in the dark with the amber filter.
  8. is it just my eyesight but it doesnt look like she has cubs . oneshot , was she milky?
  9. great dave, you are certainly knocking these bucks over
  10. nice going doesnt look as though she has cubs, she doesnt look milky in the pic. It is a diffucult decision but i always think there is a great chance for you to catch up with the buck another time but with a fox you may never see it again, so i think you took the best option
  11. great place to deal with, i paid for one of the deben lithium - ion batteries on saturday night, it arrived thismorning
  12. that is a nice looking dog zap

  17. she certainly looks in great condition del
  18. the rifle is a 20" 243 archer button barrel with my t3 22-250 action and robertson stock, scope is a leupold vx111 8.5-25x50 and a t8 on the end .the ammo i used was 75gr remmington accutips only because i have been working on my homeloads . come on scotland
  19. i took these 3 the other night, the first was a vixen and was head shot just behind the farmers house at 10pm . the second was shot just 10 minutes later at the other side of his farmyard, this vixen was 1 of three foxs but unfortunately the others wouldnt stop for me to get another shot. the last fox was a dog (middle) also shot next to the farmers house at 1am, the farmer was delighted with this one as it is probably the same one which killed their ckickens and is also the same fox i saw last monday at 1am in the same field. i was still dissapointed with the night out as i missed one on the
  20. must be a great feeling knocking the first over with your homeloads.
  21. the best factory ammo i used was federal v-shok in either 40,50 or 55 gr, they all had the same zero.
