  3. great mornings shooting. You might find the 6-9 too short for using prone unless there is no vegitation at all. I had one and sold it to get the 9-13 as i couldnt use it without being constantly fully extended.

  7. There was only a spine and skin left of it when i was out. It really was eaten quickly. The guys who lift the fallen stock say they must be complete. Even a dead ewe with its eyes pecked out ( technically ) cannot be taken by them. Hi mate would you mind explaining what you mean by this please? Who can take dead stock and what do they do with it? Many thanks As bert says most hunts have a licence to collect fallen stock and process them for the hounds but i was speaking to a knackerman and he says that they are not meant to collect any fallen stock which have any parts mis

  12. I havnt posted a topic for a wee while so here goes. Headed off to the farm on tuesday for a spot of squirrel shooting and while i was driving along the track i noticed a buzzard feeding from what was left of a sheep in the field. If a sheep dies here during the night it usually dissapears very quickly so fortunately for me it meant a nights lamping was in order. I returned that night around 10.45pm and stopped at the gate to the field and gave a quick shine of the lamp to show a fox on its way down the field.   13. I use the amber filter on the 170 and is good for 200+ yds and thats with it fitted with a 50w bulb. I also use the red but only if there is a lamp shy fox going about. how good are the green or blue?
  14. i have taken my semi-auto on an invited syndicate days and i would say my gun was the safest there as i always put it in its slip once the drive was done most if not all of the others did not. as stated above its only to do with etiquette.

  19. have you considered the 6x47 ??? similar velocity as the 6x284 but with around 10gr LESS powder.
  20. I really didnt want to spend anywhere near £130 on a lamping battery but i did and it has turned out to be worth every penny, i just stick it in my pocket and away i go. I also got mine from opticswarehouse.
  21. Well he should know then....................but i would not let a punter shoot off a fence post? There must be shortage of deer was there.............if it took 2 days to shoot one? surely a fence post is a much better/stable rest to shoot from.
