  1. Sounds stupid, but don't dry it on the radiator, as a young lad I know was going to !
  2. Dear boy, if your initial salutations had not used such vulgar regional colloquialisms, this whole disapprobation could have been avoided. Toodle-pip !
  3. As in "it's a braw bricht moonlit nicht, tha night".........? Even I know that, and I'm not Scottish, old chap !

  8. I use PayPal a ot, and I'd agree with Kanny. If he's collecting the truck, ask for cash. If not, don't release the goods until payment clears to your account.
  9. The Bank of England is seeking public nominations for the next famous figure to grace our bank notes. The £20 note currently features the economist Adam Smith (so I'm told!) but the Bank would like a "visual artist" to take pride of place - from painters to furniture makers to sculptors - on the new note, which will go into circulation in the next three years or so. So........who do you think should be on the new 20 spot ? And why ?
  10. ....to Dunkirk, a 5-yearly journey to remember the Dunkirk evacuation. Commemorations to mark the 75th anniversary begin today. In early June of 1940, small, privately-owned boats of all shapes and sizes were volunteered to make up the largest flotilla ever assembled, and completed what Churchill described as a "miracle of deliverance". At the end of operations, over 300,000 troops had been rescued from the beaches of France, and lived to fight another day........ Dunkirk flotilla to set sail for 75th anniversary events - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-32821805 And for anyone who

No its neither of them........I definitely wasn't in Lond9n at the time. It'll come to me......senility is a terrible thing !
  12. Just out of interest, what's you new local called ? I've been in the Lamb and Flag, but I can't for the life of me remember where it is, and I used to go in the Union Flag in Maidstone.......they'll be picketed by antifa's now, I should think !
  13. You say "creepy", I prefer " overly attentive"...........definitely not "stalker", 'cos that's just weird !
  14. Is that the one in the cray ? I used to live across the road from The Black Boy in SE9. Had a picture of a young black army drummer on the sign, in Napoleonic-era uniform.

  16. Too right me duck ! The Trip is considerably older than 143 years ! The Trip, Salutation, The Bell....... all have a claim apparently. Only one I've been in was Ye Olde Salutation..... my pint glass had lipstick stains on it still, LOL, classy establishment! Nevertheless, a lot of history in one place. They always got a funny class of bloke in there....... The Royal Children is a good few years old too. One of my stepsons used to work in the kitchen at the Sal' and the Royal Children.

  18. Will Gerry Adams also be offering his hand to the family of Paul Maxwell, the 15 year old local boy who was also killed on board earl Mountbatten's boat ? What about the Earl's 14 year old grandson ? Or the dowager Lady Bradborne ? And I don't suppose for a second that he'll offer the slightest condolence to the families of the 18 British troops killed at Warrenpoint on the same day either.
  19. ........weakened by a vegan diet, too many funny-fags and overuse of pale blue hair dye !

The regulations are new guidance for local authorities who will grant licences under new dog breeding regulations. The new regulations have been brought in to help combat puppy farming. They are wide ranging and cover accommodation and environment, diet

  22. Surely any business owner should have the right to decline your custom, if they choose ?
  23. In reckon he fleeced you there, Walshie ! Still, its nice to see you keeping things sheep-shape, and gain a new fleece on life, through shear determination. The shear delights of rural life are making you a mutton for punishment, but just say "Bah humbug" and "thanks for mutton" to all those bleating hearts who think ewe haven't got what it takes to bleat the competition........ (I'll get my coat !)
