  1. Their Deputy Leader is having a nice time at Glastonbury, though !
  2. The unelected bureaucrats are the ones acting like spoilt brats ! Now the decision is sinking in, the elected European leaders, led by Angela Merkel, are becoming much more conciliatory....... http://www.arcamax.com/business/businessnews/s-1845152
  3. do we need any more left fs, I think we voted just in the nick of time 10 yrs later and we would have lost due to migrant children coming of age to vote I don't think we need another left-leaning party, but I'm not a Labour supporter (big surprise, eh ?). If a significant part of the parliamentary party have no faith in their leader, but a massive majority of grass roots do, what choice do they have ? What IS needed is an effective opposition party, and since that's likely to be Labour for some time, they need to get their house in order !
  4. To go back to Tiercel's original question, I think that if Corbyn is re-elected as Labour leader, a new "left-ish" party may form........
  5. If you want to watch the drama unfold, Hillary Benn is on The Marr Show now....
  6. Looks like Jezza is in a spot of bother..... http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/jun/26/hilary-benn-revolt-jeremy-corbyn
  7. If Scameron is still PM, he needs to act like it, and do something. Since his resignation speech,I haven't heard a word from him. Normally, I'd celebrate that, but at a time like this he should have some spine and say that, although, he doesn't agree with the decision, he will begin the process of us leaving - after all, he sowed the wind, and now he should reap the whirlwind ! If he's just going to sit on his hands, then he needs to f*** off and make way for someone who actually wants the job !
  8. Wouldn't have thought he'd be that familiar with the principles of democracy !
  9. Don't apologise for ranting, mate. Good points, well made.
  10. It has been averaging around 1.26 over the last year. It is now 1.23. That is less than 3% and only caused by the money market's predictable reaction to any uncertainty. If you'd been offered 1.23 three years ago you would have snatched their hands off. If you'd have been offered 1.10 in 2011 you'd have done really well. http://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=GBP&to=EUR&view=5Y pound against the dollar has declined in the last 20 years , its no fault of brexit Markets and currencies fluctuate, that's in the nature of capitalism. But fallen markets will recover, they always
  11. But now he's lost, he's dragging his feet. Trying to muddy the waters for Boris, I reckon but I've just got a tiny nagging doubt that says he's playing for time......
  12. There IS a precedent, though - Sturgeon said their referendum was "once in a lifetime", and now look ! The remaining EU are meeting to draw their battle lines against us, while our lame duck PM sits on his hands saying he is "not the right person to lead an exit", and that his successor should envoke article 50. I say "get on with it Dave - like it or not, your the PM. Do your job !"
  13. I disagree, the working immigrants in the UK are contributing to our nation. Why the fcuk should they be punished??Obviously our own people should be given first dibs on jobs but we all know how lazy a lot of Brits are when it comes to work. My best friend is Hungarian - been here 10 years, worked from day 1, paid his taxes, never claimed a penny back and has done well for himself. Why should he be penalised in any way ? That is the kind of ethic we should be trying to instill in our youngsters ! why will he be punished, your just making stupid leftie statements, England is an island of migra
  14. Goes without saying that I'm no fan of the scruffy communist twat, but could he be the unforeseen 'collateral damage'.....? http://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/eu-referendum-government-website-crashes-as-thousands-of-remain-voters-demand-second-contest-a3279936.html It's serious enough for him to issue a denial ! http://www.i24news.tv/en/news/international/europe/117891-160625-aides-deny-labour-leader-corbyn-will-resign-in-wake-of-brexit
  15. ....but the war may not be over yet ! An online petition, demanding a re-run of the EU referendum, has gained over a million signatories. It claims that the winning margin was not wide enough, or the turn out high enough, for the result to be valid. Only 100,000 'signatures' are needed for a parliamentary discussion to be considered. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/eu-referendum-government-website-crashes-as-thousands-of-remain-voters-demand-second-contest-a3279936.html

  17. The various human rights acts were meant to offer protection from torture, wrongful imprisonment, imprisonment without trial, trial without legal representation and so on - they were not intended to provide multiple loopholes, to allow any suspect to avoid due legal process. Get them back to their original purpose !!

  19. Introduce National Service, in some form. Compulsory for at least a year, no exemptions. It doesn't have to be military training necessarily, but some form of disciplined scheme to instill a work ethic, a sense of responsibility to your community and (put simply) the ability to take orders without chucking a hissy fit ! I would also like to see university tuition fees scrapped - education should be a right, not a privilege ! I think that a job, further education or vocational training should be the only options available to school leavers, if a better future is to be secured for o
  20. I can't agree with that. That Iranian imam fella said only a "light beating" is permissable.
  21. BoJo's a shoo-in, I have crystal balls... Since I've been outside the UK for 15 years, I'm disbarred from voting, even though I'm a British citizen living in an EU country, therefore more than a little affected by the outcome of the referendum. A bit like all the Polish plumbers, electricians and builders resident in the UK who didn't get to vote... and boy, are you going to miss them when they all go back to Poland! well the next time your standing on a beach in Brittany waving bye bye to GB, take a minute and ask why you are able to do that in the 1st place, it's down to the men

  23. We've done the EU's computer systems a huge favour.....we just freed up 1 GB !! (Ba - dum - tish !!)
  24. yeh haha , no he good singer if nothing else lol I went with my youngster sister to see him in the late 80s - fabulous performer ! Turns a pop song into an epic drama.......!
  25. I heard it on the radio on Tuesday, and I've been singing "Torch" by Soft Cell ever since ! Do you think I should see someone ? https://youtu.be/xoUXVICnZkA
