  1. Anyone had any experience using Tramadol (for dogs)? My dog is on it at the moment after surgery and he is not reacting very well to it. He is very anxious and stressed. Will speak to the vet again in the morning, but any advice would be handy.
  2. Quick update... He had a 4 hour op today. the vet was fairly pleased with the outcome, but was more complicated than he thought as the smaller fracture was displaced. however lots of pins, wires, screws and a plate later he is hopefully on the mend. The vet is giving me a cd of the xrays so will post them when go back for check up on monday.
  3. This is blue in his sling, in his favourite place on the sofa!!
  4. Cheers everyone, its gonna be a tearful day tomorrow when i drop him off at the vets. Just keeping fingers crossed everything goes well!
  5. The good thing about Blue, is that he is so laid back, he would sleep all day on the sofa if he could. Out ferreting he has been known to go and find a nice sunny spot for a power nap! Knowing him he will adapt very quickly and be up and about before i know it. Will do 6 months lead walking and fitness for the last 2 months just so i know the dislocation has held. Have started glucosimine, msm, primrose oil, probiotics, and arnica!! He might rattle soon!
  6. Its always the worry with these dogs, but its what they love to do. I think i might get him some glasses, so he can see the trees next time!
  7. we had no sloes last year at all, hopefully it will be a good year!
  8. agreed he was lucky! he did hit his head, but nothing serious, just a head ache. just hope the vet is on top form tomorrow.
  9. Went out on saturday early evening to a spot where a few bunnies have been seen. Had the 3 dogs with me, and the beddyxgrey flushed one from the brambles to the beddyxgreyxwhippet, he took chase, was right on its tail when the rabbit darted to avoid an ash tree and the dog slammed straight into it at full speed! I legged it over to him, my god did he cry and scream. was pretty clear that he had done serious damage, so carried him the mile and half back home, and got straight on the phone to the emergency vet. After xrays etc. he had dislocated his shoulder, and bust the socket and frac
  10. Lovely looking pup! Looks like my beddyxgrey
  11. Excellent, but is it french?
  12. I friend of mine is looking for a "working" poodle pup. Does anyone know of any around that are from the old working french lines? Not seen a poodle work myself, but friend had one years ago, and said it was one of the best workers they had.
  13. hows the pup coming along?

  14. A bookie on grand national day! It was the most money they have taken since the last recession!
  15. I went into the post office this morning, to buy a little round disk of paper to be stuck in my car, the cashier wanted nearly £200 for this tiny little piece of paper, I really wished that was an April fool!!
  16. I thought it was one of the worst shows I have been to. The puppy classes for the lurchers took over 1.5 hours!!!! The rings were tiny, you could not even swing a cat and certainly could not see the dogs move. The lurcher ring was also right next to a fire, and every now and again you got covered in ash. My OH was getting stressed by the 3rd class so we went home, but was pleased that we got a 2nd in the beddy x class.
  17. Middle of May. Usually a Thursday.

The best stuff to use is Polyx oil made by Osmo. It is a natural finish that seals the timber on the first coat and then the second coat provides a good finish. It is not cheap, but if you only use beeswax you will get stains and movement in the timber. The Osmo stuff can be mopped and any scratches can be repaired easily.
  19. Removed every knife from the kitchen and dining room and buired in garden. Called the local paper and said the the national trust were putting the school up for sale. Put one of the teachers old minis to top of the music block! Set fire to all course notes in the driveway. Got all oil paint from art dept and put our hands and feet in it and walked all around the school building. Loads of stuff!!!
  20. Are you doing a lurcher one? Hope your mate is ok!
  21. 3 407 need a couple of jills, if any one has any!!
