  1. I take my 9 year old daughter out with me, there is nothing like it! Some good sized bunnies there as well! Good job
  2. Think I might go this year, i will be taking the crew with me, if anyone wants to say hello!!
  3. I have a merle pup and would not breed from it with another merle. If it was going to line a another collie x I would want the bitch tested for the merle gene. I would not want the heartache of sick pups, and nor would the bitch. There are so many pups around of good breeding, surely it is not worth the risk. This is just my opinion. W.H are you wanting to line Storm with a merle bitch?
  4. Looks a cracker c/g, good luck with him!
  5. It is the best way of getting business, people see you driving around and will call. Magnetic ones (like poacherjim said) are a really good idea, then if you are worried about your van getting damaged you can take them off!
  6. As far as I am aware, you have to have continuous insurance for the no claims discount to be valid. I think you also have to have bought "protected" no claims. Worth a phone call to see if they will honour it.
  7. Looks like she might burst!! Good luck, keep us posted! And stop chewing your nails!
  8. I heard about this the other day, got straight on the phone, but alas I had already claimed! B*gger I had already spent the money in my head!
  9. I have not any of the actual tent, but i can find a stock photo of what it looks like?
  10. Anyone, make an offer ???
  11. I have a large 9 man tent I want to get rid of, only used once. It has a central area then 3 pods that sleep 3 each. I am in Glos between Gloucester and Swindon, you would need to collect as fairly heavy. I paid over £200 for it, would be happy with £75 cash on collection.
  12. A pub buys for £3 each oven ready! Will not take shot rabbit tho, has to be ferreted or soft mouthed lurcher. One hotel will buy for £4 each, but we dont go up there very often.
  13. Blimey, he looks the double to mine Lol - mine is a first cross beddy x grey he is about 19 months. Is yours a first cross?
  14. I have known "Sooty" for years, he has been called it since he was a child. I havn't seen him for a few years now, but he used to refer to himself as Sooty - so where is the problem??
  15. I run 2 entire males together, and both on their own with a bitch, as and when. I have never had any problems. Mine are all kept as a pack, they know I am at the top of the pack and what i say goes 99% of the time. I always feed according to the pack and same with working, the top dog always has first slip then they can run as a pair. With mine its all about how i am around them, they pick up on everything. I do have a pup coming on who will challenge for pack leader, but he will not get past me!!
  16. Miss Lurcher Bitch on here has one similar, she may know if there is a different name??
  17. Hi - is the pup still available, I have a friend interested? Can you pm me your number and I will get them to call you. Thanks
  18. Thanks to all your help, ferret was found yesterday evening, alive and well! So pleased he is back. Will give him a few days off now and not do that warren again!! Just goes to show, you shouldn't give up on them!
  19. I have not been out on the lamp for about 4 weeks now. The ground is frozen solid, and would not risk my dogs. Have done quite a bit of ferreting only in woodland where the ground is better when we get a few bolters, the dogs can run. Got a new lamp for christmas and not been able to use it yet, gutted!!
  20. There is no way I could dig that depth with all those roots. I hope you are right whippetmike, that he is stuck behind a kill and will eat his way out. I did think about putting another down but i really dont want to risk losing another. The burrow is about a mile away from the house, so my neighbour and I are taking it in turns to go and have a check. How long will the batteries last on a collar it was new in yesterday?
  21. Went out with the dog and ferret yesterday after getting the locator collar fixed and i have lost the bloody ferret already wearing the collar!! The locator is working and there is a good reading at between 14 and 15 feet, but under a 100ft beech tree. The roots are massive so there is no way I can dig him out without damaging the tree. I have blocked all holes up apart from one and left the ferret box there with some new straw and a smelly pheasant in it to draw him out. Lost the ferret at 3pm yesterday. Went down to look at 6pm, 10pm 6.30am 12.30pm and 4pm today no sign. The collar is s
