I have the opposite problem, I cannot find any men around my way who are into hunting!! (Well there is one but he is well and truely taken) so I know exactly what you mean. All my mates ask if I want to go out into town, and I can't and dont even want to as I have my crew to look after and run. A night lamping or a night in the pubs and clubs, I know what I would take! So if you know of any nice men around the Glos area around 30 years old - let me know!

someone once said to me the easiest way to pick a pup from a litter is to get a rabbit skin on a string and move it around in a circle on the floor, hopefully they will all follow, if you get one that cuts across the circle to get to the rabbit skin thats the pup to pick. Hope that makes sense!

I was made redundant in June of this year, so went into panic mode for a weekend, then got my arse in gear and now have my own buisness. I made quite a bit of money in the first few months, but am now struggling to find solid work. I dont have any credit cards or loans or overdraughts (anymore been stung before), so now I only spend what I have, if I cannot afford it then I go without. All i want in life is a roof over my head, my daughter to be fed and watered. Whatever i have left over i save incase i have a bad week. It does not cost anything to have a good day out with the dogs!!

Took last years pup out today for his first time ferreting. He was an absolute star! He took to the ferrets straight away and only had to call him off once. He then marked and tried to cover every hole, the first few got away but then working a hedge row with a long net on one site and him on the other he got a couple that had bolted!! Very happy with him for first time out. Next time I go out I will try and remember the camera!!

ACP is not recommended by vets anymore as it makes animals more sensitive to noise and because they are sleepy and legs wobbly they get more frightened as they cant get away from the noise.

Had to use tranqs on my old working cocker, loved gun shots but not fireworks. The only way to cure a dog is to condition it to the noise, ask your vet as they will be able to lend or hire you a cd with fireworks on, play it very quiet to start with then increase the noise over a period of a few weeks. It takes time but does work. In the mean time a crate with a blanket over the top to make the dog feel secure, also radio or tv on to drown out the noise.

Hope she makes a fast recovery, that is some wound, and the stitches look terrible, but doubles never look neat. She must be a tough girlie!!

If you order through paypal your payment is protected surely? They offer £500 protection. I have used the protection cover before and got my money back after something did not arrive? However, if it looks to good to be true it normally is!!!.....

Kennel cough is a horrible mine all had it in the summer, the general rule is if one gets it they all do, as you can carry it from one to another. I would say they are fine together, dont run them for 3 weeks tho - it has been know for the lungs to blow. Try and make sure you wash hands, clothes and footwear if handling other peoples dogs, cos it spreads so easily. I got mine from handling a pup at a game fair, i did not even take my dogs with me because the weather was so bad. Good luck and hope they get better soon.

Very true, my neighbour has bitches and while they are in season he does not take them out. There is a serious lack of respect and values across the country these days. Have also been at a show with my daughter in a child handling class with a hot bitch competing next to them. The judge knew the craic and placed them last, parents looked a bit pink in the cheeks!!!

I would never in a month of Sundays put my 1st cross beddy grey to an over weight black lab! whatever fee they were willing to pay!!!
