  2. I used to spray mine with water in the face when it jumped up at me on the lead. He still hates it now!
  3. This is the dislocation: And back in: Pins/wires/plate to shoulder:
  4. Sloe gin and port and then when i am in the pub a few pints of gem
  5. Nice pup you have there, has it been clipped?
  6. How many bales did you get for £20?
  7. Having a horse rear up whilst riding and falling over backwards crushing me, i think that was the most painful! Child birth was a piece of cake compared to that!
  8. Any dog I have is for life, there is no way in a month of sundays that I would throw a dog away just because it got injured. He is perfectly content, and that is all i ask of my dogs. Hopefully he will be up for some ferreting next season. He has been an honest worker for me, so I will do the same in return for him.

    BUILDERS

You wont get 16x2's! You will either have to suspend 6x2's on joist hangers or concrete to get the floor raised.
  10. So much for me feeling sorry for my dog! Yesterday i let him into the garden for a wee, and i went back inside. 5 mins later went to check on him and he had gone! He had jumped a 5 bar gate, and legged it down the road (on 3 legs) and i eventually found him on the bridle path about 1/2 mile away!! Made him walk back, which of course he did very slowly because his shoulder really hurts!! yeah right! Just goes to show how tough and adaptable these lurchers are even after 36 hours from major surgery. At least my dog has his spirit back!
  11. Hows the pup doing Rory?

  12. If he is due to be wormed, get it done asap. Also get a wormer from the vets not a supermarket one as they dont work! Chicken shit can also burn the stomach lining so I would try not to let him eat it. Hope he gets better soon.

    Farriery

I think there is a course you have to do as well as the apprenticeship. It is well worth doing especially if you can get to do remedial/corrective shoeing. My farrier has all his clients (mainly polo) within 10 miles and then goes to Dubai every 5 weeks for 1 week to shoe the sultans horses. He is getting serious money! At one yard (dressage) I used to work on flew their farrier in from Holland, as they cannot find a good one here. You would need to base yourself in a good area where you can do big yards, like the racing and polo hotspots as this is where you earn the big money.

    Your Job

    Freelance Project Manager (Construction)
  15. I don't think it makes a difference, one of mine has all black pads and he gets stung and sore just as much as the one with white/pink pads. I have had horses with white hooves also never caused any problems with or without shoes
  16. How is the dog? did you get it to the vets?
  17. Hopefully he will only need a dose tonight and then I will take him off them, but see how he goes. It was fairly major surgery to repair a fratured shoulder in 2 places, but agree he should not be on human doseage!!

    Ideal job

My dream job would be to have a farm and several very nice horses in for training. Would not care about the pay etc.. quality of life is most important!
  19. He was on 100mgs twice a day, now on 50mgs twice a day. It goes on body weight, i would be careful using it, you need to balance the side effects to pain threshold!!!
  20. This is mine after the weekend! Hope yours heals quickly. Bloody dogs!
  21. I think i have it sorted now, have reduced the tramadol by half and he is now sleeping and not stressing. Spoke to the vet he agreed with me, and said if necessary he can have 1/2 a paracetamol every 12 hours as well.
  22. Is worming up to date? That would be my first thought. My second thought would be that he has eaten something he cannot digest, are you missing anything a sock or kids toy? You should also feed a probiotic in either the water or food. This will help gut function. However, it does sound like you should get him checked out by a vet asap.
