  10. well i had a little incling to build a light stable bench for doing some comfortable long range plinking off And seeing as i'm fairly handy with the tools i decided to go with this idea given to me by a fella shooter, its real steady to shoot of... heres a few pic's of the finished item...
  11. i use 32g 7's or if the birds are coming in high switch to 6's hope this helps.
  12. extendable sides too, very nice... Snap.
  13. i believe the best compromise for the 40g would be 1 in 11, i believe border barrels are now making a barrel for the .204, and have built a few rifles to find a good twist rate.. i was surprised to see the sako not being the most accurate for a change, and also had problems extracting the round at times... As you also state the twist could be marginally either side of the 1 in 12, hence leading to one gun shooting the 40's and the same make not liking them at all. it's a cracking round to shoot, and when a load is developed extremely accurate outta the box..... looking forwar
  14. examine them for any small lines forming around the neck area and all over the case... this is where splits tend to happen and you will notice it before it gets outta hand.. you should have no real problems if you check the cases after cleaning them each time... Snap.

  18. Glad to hear you got it sorted mate... ATB. Snap.
  19. As for firing rounds through the barrel your not gonna be worrieed about that, it'll take loads... my main concern is what style of cleaning it got, bore snake only, or rods, if so are they the cheap split ones made from aluminium...? if so they could wear the rifling no end if care is not taken... if your in doubt take it to someone before you buy, or get a few shots through it before you buy to test accuracy... if it wasn't given a good copper cleaning routine also it will need a good scrub out... Atb. Snap.
  20. this is what i use albeit, its 1 inch over your max length... but an excellent case.. Snap. http://www.6mmbr.com/catalog/item/1433308/5219558.htm

  22. Do you know if your mate has chronographed his reloads? I remember reading at the time the .204 came out that people were having trouble replicating factory ballistics. I forget why but I have the idea that it was because whatever powder the factories were using wan't availavle to reloaders? J. hey mate, he has said that with some powders the velocity was well down, but he loves the reloader 10 and is getting near factory specs i believe... i'll ask him next time i'm talking to him... ATB. Snap.
  23. not a clue mate but i hope you get sorted, did you do a check of the net...? Snap.
