Honestly it sounds like he hasn't got a clue mate, i wouldn't even waste time worrying about him if he cannot understand you have other commitments too!!!! If he has family i pity them, Seeing as the permission you have is shared i'd just go on my own, or maybe take the kiddies if they are old enough i had a similar problem, but nothing to do with family or children, just people have no understanding sometimes....... Snap.

be very careful giving a small animal any ammount of ivermection based product, the dose rate is 1cc/50kg bodyweight, and to lead to a failure of the nervous system and death... 1cc is more than enough, followed by a further 1cc 6 weeks later.

if the 100w buld is longer you are effectively changing the points of reflection in the lamp and the beam may change, and you may notice no difference you will notice that the batteries won't last near as long either, panther has a good beam on it...

Time spent training too should be kept short, 10 mins max, and keep it fun.... good luck..

Shit deal that martin, i hope you get sorted, atvb.

This happened by a squib round, by that i mean the first round got stuck in the barrel, maybe via a cleaning patch left in or some foreign object, not noticing the round never exited the barrel the shooter chambered another round pulled the trigger, and the bullet forced itself into the round already stuck in the barrel, hence one big mess.. Snap.

i'm just wondering why everyone's wanting a flatter shooting round, faster isn't always better, and maybe less accurate, i'm just wondering how many people dial in their shots...!!! zero'ed at 100 yards with the .243 i normally just point and shoot out to 200 or so with little hold over, And over this i dial in everything after ranging... i have always prefered accuracy over velocity, and an accurate load at 100 yards may be totally crap at 300, So i always shoot paper before going to charlie... long range foxing round is 87g v-max for me at the minute, but i'm looking into

yep another vote for the striker 170, good out to 600m you won't get a better quality beam from any other light. -

If you play fetch with the dog with sticks or hard toys this could lead to hard mouth, As was said above check for broken ribs in the birds or meat damage, The key to fixing the problem is a hard one, i've seen people wrapping a dummy with feathers and holly, and work at it over time, A small mouthed dog may mouth the bird to get it into a comfortable position as this may also lead to a little damage, Time is the key as is patience and lots of it, good luck Snap.

As HZ has said all other routes must be exhausted before the decission is made to shoot the animal. Witnesses are always good, should it be the farmer or a hunting partner, but where there is no doubt of animal loss then you have little to worry about if you have the permission to make such a judgement... Snap.

just to add from another topic on here, that these laws may help you in your time of need and also be handy to know a little about... As said a silly little pot licker running amuck is one thing, but a dog running through and worrying sheep trying to bite is a differing story.. Animals Act 1971 You could be liable for damage caused by your dog under this Act or under some degree of negligence. It is highly advisable to have third party liability insurance to cover this, something that is included in most pet and some household insurance policies. Dogs (Protection of Livestoc

you insinuated i was a moron like any other with a gun, i have not been arrested neither has night hunter, !!! So if you could point out the bit where it says i broke the law i and others i'm sure would be greatful... But in the laws eyes on that day and a few others i was not arrested, As i worked within the law to control the animals causing trouble, SO as i said if you could show me where i broke the law, under what act and when it was introduced i would be glad to see it.... And where the hell do you think that any farmer has the law on his side to shoot someone who s

.243 Varmint Load.......4000fps.
SNAP SHOT replied to robbobsam's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Hiya Mate, Thanks for your reply, I do dial in normally. I use grain bergers with Varget and get 0.5" groups at 200yds. The load is incredibly accurate. The problem is that I do a lot of shooting at night and the rabbits and foxes are so used to being shot at that I dont get much time to take a shot. Most shots are between 100-250yds and to make headshots at those ranges I need to dial in which is just impossible at night as I need to use a rangefinder to get the range right. If I can get a load that will go 4000fps I can zero it at 200yds and it will still give me point and shoo -
Sense at last....... And the law clearly states that you may shoot dogs that are NOT UNDER CONTROL WORRYING LIVESTOCK.......... And that the owner can be done under sereral differing laws, IF the farmer wants to go down that path, The farmer i refered to lives about 3 miles from town and was fed up with the open the front door attitude..... but he didn't want to fall out with the locals by taking court action, As it is a small close knit town mainly.. And if the land owner give you permission to dispach said outta contol animals then you are legally entitled to do so, under law

.243 Varmint Load.......4000fps.
SNAP SHOT replied to robbobsam's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
It is possible mate, But your gonna burn the barrel out rather quickly firing loads like that through it, i shoot the 58g with varget and the velocity was 3670fps in my old barrel... would it not be a better bet to dial in your drop rather than push for the max, you'll have your barrel for longer too... or if you want to go long range, try the 70g sierra blitzking, or the 87g v-max..... Atb Snap.
