  3. Nice to hear your getting out and about again ditch
  4. i see no problem with your choice but for the fact that what do you shoot most, reds fallow etc or roe, muntjac, The .243 is effective on hill reds fact, if poor placement of the bullet is to blame then surely this is not the rifles fault but the shooters. i've seen all deer species in ireland hit with .308, .270, 6.5x55, 6.5 x 284, all hit reds and the deer run, shooter error, not rifle. If your a competent shot the .243 will be a good all rounder...............
  5. Just wondering do any of you use this ballistics program and do you find it accurate, as i've just got it...........

  15. just a little write up on the lansky kit i bought, i've had a try and i've got to tell you all for anyone a bit crap at sharpening knifes like myself, it's well worth the money. i purchased the deluxe kit and find i great. So go on and treat yourselves. you just have to spend a bit of time grinding a new edge to suit the angle on the blade from the old one on the knife. you can adjust to suit lots of differing angles, and 20 degrees is recommended for fillet or skinning purposes also does a fine scalpel edge but is too delicate for hunting needs. well done lansky for a great piece of kit.
  16. bore sight the rifle and take a shots to see the bullet skrike on the board. setup at 100 yards, use a target with 1 inch increments marked on it. So take a shot notice were it strikes. now measure the distance away from your POI [point of aim] if say three inches right and 1/2 inch high and your scope is 1/4 moa click 12 clicks left 4 clicks being 1 inch at 100 yards in 1/4 moa scope. and click 2 clicks down on the scope. now fire of three shot at the same aim point as before.........let the barrel cool for about five minutes now....... take a walk to the tar
  17. i use browning gun oil, napier gun oil, forrest foam, hoppes gun oil, hoppes no9 solvent, hillman foam, oil, and lubricant. the choice is yours.........
  18. stick with the cz, excellent gun for the money, the only one thing you may have to do is change the trigger as it is set fairly heavy, not a problem though good luck with it.
