cold room storage were i shoot is 4 to 7 days if it's a red it's hung for 5 to 7, fallow and sikka between 4 and seven, if no cold room 3 to 4 days depending on the heat etc.

The sako 85 is an excellent rifle, in either .243 or 6.5x55, very well built and excellent to shoot. Ask me how i know this well two of my friends will shoot nothing but sako's. If money's tight look for the 75 model some are still left. Sako is build quality, that will last, in both the 6.5 and .243 shooting 1/2 inch no problem with reloading. I would however recommend the sako 85 stainless synthetic. you won't be disapointed.

i believe the .243 will do everything you ask of it great target round, good deer calibre and excellent fox calibre. As for long range shooting get to know your gun and you will have no problems at long range. plus it will make things easier for you on your application. i believe it will make an excellent for centrefire for you......

i personally would go for either the .308 or the 6.5x55, the 260 is finiky to reload i hear whereas the .308 and 6.5 are extremely accurate and proven to be easy to reload. bullet choice would also be a concern as would getting rid of it if the need was too. Not everyone wants a 260. whereas the .308 or 6.5 will sell regardless. All these have to be taken into consideration.........good luck Also considering that this would be your firstcentrefire how about 22-250 or .243, both proven through time.

As far as i see it it's a bit of banter. Fun and the ladies know this of course there will be a few as in every other post who don't agree with something. And fair play to the ladies for having a bit of a laugh on here............. It's the silly season after all................a time for a bit of fun after all general talk is just that general.............about anything...........even not hunting related that's why it's here........... And i have to say that, kay, miss tarka, and missie have given my a laugh over the short while i've been on here, made it fun on the dull days...............

i've got a leupold on my .243 and regularly use it in both dawn and dusk stalking, lamping at night target work, it's a 6.5x20x50 LRT/M1 Not cheap by all means, but quality speaks volumes. i'm shooting foxes at 400 yards and slightly over at night so it gets my vote..........What you waiting for.
