  1. if you want the engine of the thieves car totally fooked then add a drop of cosil D into the drum i'm talking a cap full or slightly less, this is an acid for silage to stop it turning bad at the pit edges, it will sieze the engine, the way it was found out was that a farmer near me run out of diesel in the field and had the empty drum of cosil D sitting there so took it to the filling station to fill the drum however a tiny ammount of it was still in the bottom of the drum, he emptyed the drum of diesel into the tractor to get it home to fill and about 5mins down the road the engine siezed, i
  2. getting the bug now i see ditch, good lad
  3. turret allen screws loose, this has been a problem in a few scopes by hawke......they need checking as they are often very small and will loosen with ease then if you dial up the scope you never get to the same zero after because the dial has moved, thinking you are still on zero, after resetting or dialing down............ if it's on a centrefire rifle then its your own fault as they will not take excessive recoil...........by which i mean over a period of time.
  4. i was shooting two feet away from a sako trg22 .308 and i have to say the blast of noise side one with ear defenders was very sore so sore in fact i had to stop shooting till he was finished.......... so get a thread protecter instead......... its not to expensive to get one made even if it is not with a factory threaded rifle...
  5. check to see if the rounds that did extract have any slight markings on them, such as little scores, As this would suggest a burr in the chamber somewhere............i can't see the reasoning behind the shop saying soft brass..................
  6. health a safety i would bet ,they always put a damper on things.............................
  7. not even on your bicycle....................................
  8. agreed, be sure before you pull the trigger fact.............100 % sure...... look for eyes that blink is correct but also have a more red to orange colour i find rabbit hare i find are more deeper red......... think backstop is the next thing that sould go thruogh your mind after the fox has been indenified whats behind the hedge, a hill or a field full of cattle and sheep, safety first...........
  9. the cases will need to be prepared again for reloading but should be fine..........
  10. tungsten, this is what border barrels recommend for shooting in a barrel good luck with it............ http://www.border-barrels.com/shoot-in.htm
  11. Don't think it could be soft brass either mate if all is not well, try new cartridges, then get a new rifle if not 100% satisfied.............let us know the score, hornady normally make good ammo to a high quality...............
  12. breaking in the barrel, i always shoot one and clean for between 30 to 50 rounds, the .243 is a reasonably fast cartridge and a rapid build of of copper may form on a new barrrel so a good clean will be very necessary now..............i don't know of the patch out that you use but a solvent for carbon and powder would be a start. followed by forrest foam or similar, than a light coating of gun oil on a patch and run the process until the patch comes out clean...........................followed by a dry patch if not putting into storage or taking to the range...............this is just my clean
  13. you should've saved the bullet and just hit him with the butt at that distance.................... nice one.........
  14. don't forget folks send in the dogs tonight at 8 on itv1
  15. As i would say you well know mate the only danger here is if the bullet does not have the velocity to clear the barrel or jam and you don't notice this or think the round left the barrel only to load another into the breach and fire leading to a messed up barrel..............if not worse...................caution......
  16. the .204 is a great calibre..............i can't see why people are saying it has alot of problems...........unless they are not giving it a good clean etc, as it's a very fast round.........now agreed there will be a few lemons in the works but any i have seen have been accurate to 1/2 inch with factory or homeloads...................
  17. Nice one, remember just because you passed your test doesn't mean you stop learning, now go have fun...............................
  18. had me on the edge of my seat for a change awesome racing on such a difficult circut..........................
  19. did you check to see if the mounts are tight, no rifle should have to be left fifteen minutes after each shot, so its not a barrel heating problem, but could still be copper build up, did you use a copper foam or solvent remover............was the barrel shot in...........
  20. check all nuts, bolts etc on the rifle......sounds like loose mounts or bases...................if this is not the problem the i would suggedt a good clean of the barrel...........a very good clean................carbon and copper build up may be the problem........................
  21. welcome to THL.........enjoy
