Well after all the incessent asking at work, i decided to head out last night for a quick lamp with my regular lamping buddy, we headed off down the road and see two foxes in the one field but the cattle and sheep made it difficult to keep a track on them, and we decided to let them go for another night So we headed to where the first problem was been caused and spied foxy in a small field behind the shed where the ducks are kept, this fox has been lamped before and made off down along the track to the little bit of scrub in which we lost it, And my buddy said he'll try and cross the road t
  2. did you do a test on the powder and bullet combo, try a few different loads to see which was the most accurate..........? then did you tweek the load to see could you achieve better accuracy, ...........? or did you just get some reloads done because he said these will shoot i your rifle.........no two rifles are the same......and all loads will need testing..... then did you crono the rounds to get bullet drop before you started to shoot at 500 yards............. any of these above missed above, your waisting your time........sorry...............

  5. alright lads and lasses, headed out for a shot yesterday morning early, and hoped into the landy for the 110 mile journey......yes 110 miles, got to the field it was still dark with the moon shining and a fairly heavy fog rolling over the land, we started up a track and saw a couple of hinds a calf which gave a bark when we got to within about 40 yards of them, walking up the lane leading to the field we reached a peak we could look into the field over, and saw a lone fallow grazing, we watched for ages as it grazed moving slowly to and away from us until we decided to go in for a stalk as

  10. Size...............wise would help but i'd say maybe a melanistic fallow, these are the darkest form of fallow and have nearly a completely black coat in winter, hope this helps...........

If your also going to be eating the meat then shot placement is critcial with the .270 as meat damage will be a big problem, the recoil and noise, also are more than annoying and i honestly can't see any reason why you would change from the 6.5 x 55, but everyone has there own way of going mad..... i think you'll stick with the 6.5 as its more comfortable to shoot and every bit on par with the .270,
